|| Nanami was pretty sure the girl at the other side of the inn's dining hall was carrying a four-eyed cat.
She couldn't be positive, of course, and it seemed a completely ludicrous idea in her head; after all, factually speaking, four-eyed cats didn't exist...unless, of course, they were some kind of mutant strain of cat...wait...that might be interesting, actually...
Nanami nodded to herself, finished the last sip of her cider, and carefully approached the girl, stumbling just a little in your new, unworn boots. Leather is...harder to walk in than your plasticky Mary Janes were. You're going to have to get used to it.
Upon arriving at the girl's table, you sort of stand there for a second, staring at her until she looks up. You're not yet accustomed to the social graces and cues needed to blend in as a "normal" human; even when you were trying to pass for one on the Island, you never quite succeeded.
So when the girl looks at you, you take it as your cue to sit across from her, give her a serious look, and ask,
"Is your cat mutated? Or the product of some kind of experiment?" ||
