Pidge had suddenly collapsed on the floor, sweat pooling on her brow. Her pale green eyes darted left and right, seemingly following a hidden attacker. She kept repeating herself in the most unusual way, her voice shaking, low, and ridden with fear. “Another one… Not another one.. no… not another…”Rin knelt down, laughing nervously at first. “Heh.. okay, I know we talked about monsters, but…” but Pidge didn’t respond, nor even acknowledge the other’s presence. She had crumpled herself onto the floor now, balling her knees to her chest in a defensive manner, trying to protect herself from her minds deadly ghosts. Tears began to streak down and mar her fur, splashing heavily onto her thick scarf and coat. The assistant now knew this was indeed a fit and not some kind of joke. She reacted on instinct now, never having had someone collapse in her presence before. Rin quickly scanned her partners belongings, looking for a name. One of her books had toppled open, which she quickly thumbed through the front to find the owner. She lowered her voice to the most calming, deep tone she could muster for someone her size.“Pidge? Pidge, is that your name? Dear, I don’t know if you can hear me, but I’m right here… I’m going to tap you on the shoulder, okay… it’s just me.. I’m here to help… my name is Rin, okay? I’m a friend.” As the red head spoke, she very slowly and gently touched Pidge’s shoulder. She flinched for a moment, but seemed to be responding slightly to the warmth of another near her.“Hey… it’s okay. It’s going to be okay. See? I’m here for you. I’m a friend. I won’t let go, okay?” Rin continued to console the panicked yordle best she could, one hand keeping contact with Pidge while the other pulled the bandanna from her neck. She used this to gently pat Pidge’s face, wiping away the tears and perspiration from her brow. She made sure to keep her upright so the pale one could breathe a little easier than on the dusty floor. Her breath was shallow, which made Rin worry that she would choke easily if not taken care of.“Come on girl, breathe deep. Big, deep breathes. Nothing is here to hurt you. It’s just me. You’re not alone, you’re safe. It’s okay.”
