I see many complaints on Voltage’s Facebook about the ballots hack thing. I just want to say that as someone who is major in Computer Science and and working as an intern, that could definitely happen. Android apps are much more vulnerable and can be easily hacked by by other third-party apps than apps on IOS (unless you have a rooted device.) All the apps, no matter how great they are can have loopholes in security, that’s why company keep updating their apps to fix them.
A long time ago, in one of the forums in my native language, someone even posted download link to a third-Party app, which can unlock all the stories in the old standalone Voltage apps without paying. Of course Voltage figured that out and fixed that through update. I think many has attempted to try unlock their story without pay, but Voltage probably shut them down without making a fuss about it. The election is different this time because it is not about personal matter but a community so they make a public announcement. It’s not the first time this happened though. There is a year, someone hacked the ballots and voted for kbtbb Luke Foster, made him number one. They fixed the problem right after though. I think they made a mistake this time by solving the problem way too late. It would be better if they fixed it during the voting period.
Third, someone asked Voltage what’s kind of loophole, demand their explanation. I doubt Voltage will give answer to that since developing the security for apps costs a lot of money and it is their tech secret. Revealing it will only lead hackers to create a more sophisticated pathway in hacking and that will cost them a lot more.
