Another old fan art, this time it's my tribute to Voltron: Defender of the Universe, TV series I loved so much in my early teenage years.

It is so funny to see how diferent Golion and Voltron(80s) treats their villains

The best example is Sinclines' birthday/Treasure of Planet Tyrus epsodes

In Golion-> it's Sinclines birthday and he is taking the day off, Daibazaal calls asking were is he, and once learning he is taking the day off bc it's his birthday his father just "oh, I see, fair enough, I'll send a birthday present then, enjoy your day off"

In voltron(80s)-> Lotor is taking a break when Zarkon senses disturbance in the force and calls him "what the fuck are you doing getting a massage you were suposed to oversee our pirate ship with stolen treasures, at this rate I'm regretting to have bough that golden statue as a surprise brithday presenge you useless som of mine"

Sure, the censorship changed DRATICALY the actual TREAT that Zarkon is supposed to be, but they also dumbed down Lotor TREMENDOUSLY, adding to the fact that from day one Zarkon does not trust him at all, makes me wonder why then does he keep him around if he treats Sendak and Lotor the same

While in Golion it's clear that Sincline is favored by his father above all, there is the typical level of mistrust expected from a immortal emperor to his never to seize the tone but very ambitious about it in his better days son, but never once I see the level of humiliation being given to him as frequent as Lotor relieves in dotu... I can't wait to see his death, it's gonna be satisfying as fuck seeing him die bc of it

Its also funny that it's fucking Daibazaal that is winning the "better father" contest of the voltron multiverse... fucking Daibazaal, you know, the guy that hunts slaves heads for sport in his birthday and kills every woman he sleeps with or something

Also that same Golion epsodes has this scene:

And if I didn't know that he was half altean I absolutely would call Honerva his mom now, no wonder VLD just made it canon, it's not that big gap to make them related
