AITA for pretending to forget a bonding moment?

My rival (17M) and I (17M) had a bonding moment a while ago. He cradled me in his arms and we talked while he took me to a healing pod. I was pretty injured so it was kinda necessary.

The stuff we talked about was pretty emotionally heavy. We talked about how we felt about the war, and our places in it. But the thing is, this made me realise I had a crush on him. I wasn't emotionally ready for it though, so when we talked about it the next day, I denied it happening.

I think I'm finally ready to admit it, but the thing is, it's been months since then. So Reddit, AITA?

AITA for pretending I didn't recognise my crush?

Something I feel I should say for context before we start is that my brother (25M), S, went missing about a year ago.

I (17M) have a crush on this guy (17M) named L. We went to the same school (in the same class) until I dropped out. S disappearing was the main reason for that, but I was glad I didn't have to deal with my crush.

A few months ago, I found S and went to go rescue him. However, L interrupted, because he also wanted to save my brother. I pretended not to know who he was, because I was not ready to face my crush on L at that point. He seemed a little disappointed I didn't remember him.

We're a lot closer now (we even had a bonding moment!), but I'm worried that if I confess that I remembered him (and my crush on him) that I'd ruin our friendship. AITA?
