SEE THIS IS WHAT SHOULD BE A COMMON COURTESY! People explaining why a certain term is bad! I have spent my entire time in the voltron fandom thinking it was just some platonic shipping stuff done in the way of ship names!!

Aside from that, this clears up a whole gosh darn lot Toya. And I know you ship shieth Toya, ya goober, you have a keith blog. But now I know better and that is what everyone should try to do since I know there are lots of people like me who dont understand anything about fandom cultures so I’m gonna make a promise to explain this kind of shit to people who are like me in these endevaors.

You're negative feelings towards the season may not have to do with your ships and I wanna say it's okay to have a different experience or feeling towards the season. Everyone enjoys things differently and this season impacted everyone differently. And despite what some people seem to be implying, it wasn't really "ships" that I have seen and talked to people about them being disheartened. I know for myself, scrolling through sometimes it feels like if you didn't like the season it's because "all you care about is ships and you don't appreciate this show" and I'm here to tell you that's wrong and a very negative view. Are there some people who hated the season due to ships? Yes. Did all of those who were impacted negatively by the season have their experiences due to ships? Not at all. Please respect ALL people's opinions. Whether they liked it or not. And for those who are shaming people who did like the season, don't. The season resonated with them for different reasons. They're a different person with different opinions. Don't shame anyone because they're different. Being different is what makes us awesome. Having diverse people with diverse opinions shows how large this little world actually is. I'm not saying keep your opinions or criticism of the season to yourself, but I am saying keep your criticism of other people's opinions to a respectful level. If you're discussing pros and cons, and both of you have agreed to do such, go ahead! But not everyone is okay with hearing negative views towards their opinions, either at the moment, or in general. And it doesn't matter whether they should or shouldn't but you need to be respectful towards their opinions and feelings. Treat everyone with the respect our great Shiro would show y'all, pala-dudes.

The famous bonding moment, the "I cradled you in my arms!" scene that Keith references?

this sure as hell can’t be it.

They are holding hands, that’s it. No way does that qualify as “cradling someone”. 

But, BUT, Lance had to get to the cryopod somehow? Right? Someone had to carry him. Couldn’t be Shiro, he was injured himself, Pidge wouldn’t be able to lift Lance, tiny gremlin that she is, and Hunk and Coran were putting in the new crystal to fix the castle so that you know, they could actually use the cryopods. And I highly doubt it was Allura.

Ladies and gentlemen, we missed quality Klance content of Keith carrying Lance bridal style to the cryopod. The bonding moment fucking happened off-screen.

I would just like to state for the record that I am normally a firebreathing Klance shipper, but I would much prefer to see good character development for all of the characters than see time wasted on any romance arc. And no, I’m not just being petty, I legitimately care more about seeing numerous well rounded and interesting characters, as opposed to having a bunch of talking setpieces in the background of a romance.

since the new season comes out in 2 days and there's already some spoilery content out there, I'm going to tag everything season 5 related with "vld spoilers"

*starts blocking blogs in the voltron fandom with 'anti' in the description* see at first I thought they had the same notp as me and it was cool but then I realized they were douchebag bullies and I'm appalled it took me so long to realize this

I never learned the term anti until this fandom. They are very toxic people and they try to act like they aren’t. They literally twist their words around when a new situation pops up in their ship to meet their standards. Not sure if you know the whole story, so I’ll tell you it. I got you fam 👍

Basically it’s Antis VS. Pro-Shaladins

Antis at first are like “Oh SheiTH IS BAD BECAUSE IT’S A BROTHER LIKE RELATIONSHIP” (which isn’t proven to be canon, but if you headcanon it in fanon it’s cool, you do you) and another classic “HE’S A MINOR!!!! AND HE’S AN ADULT!! PEDOPHILA!!!”

Now that Keith is 18 and considered a legal adult, they start bringing out the ‘age gap’ card, (which isn’t even that bad, age gap relationships can work with communication and consent like any normal relationship). 

So now Shaladins are laughing them because their precious Klance is “cancelled” because Lance is 17 and is apparently minor. Basically when they were preaching about how ‘pedophilic’ ships are wrong, they themselves were unknowingly shipping a ‘pedophilic’ ship. Ah, irony. Isn’t it great? I ramble a lot, sorry for that.

In the end, most Shaladin ships are no longer ‘pedophilic’, actually that’s not even the right word for it, the correct word is actually ephebophilia. (yes, antis don’t even look up the definition for pedophilia, they use it as an umbrella term.) They must have aged during their adventures in space as Paladins. These three posts are really good references as on how they might have aged. ONE TWO THREE (three is an age difference chart for ships)
