Keith’s connection to the Lions?

Alright guys, I’ve been thinking about this since I watched Voltron S2 and then rewatched the first episode of S1.

During the two seasons we have right now, we have seen Keith connect to three different lions: the Blue Lion, the Red Lion, and the Black Lion. Now I’m not saying he has a deep connection to all of them, his connection is mainly with Red, but still, what has occurred is very unique. The only person/alien we see able to connect to more than one lion is Allura, due to her father entrusting her with this power before her 10,000 year sleep.

Blue was sending some sort of ‘feeling’ to Keith during part of his year in isolation out in the desert, until Lance came out to the area in which Keith discovered the markings of the Blue Lion. 

Keith later then bonds with Red Lion, becoming her paladin, even though it took some time and Keith proving himself to her (I’m going with Red being a female lion here). They later developed a deeper bond in S2, in which Red can sense her paladin’s distress.

But then in episode one of S2, we see Keith pilot and bond again with another Lion, Black, when Shiro is in trouble and they work together to save Shiro. This leads to Shiro giving the line we all love to hate, “If I don’t make out of here, I want you to lead Voltron.”

The reason I bring this up is because I believe the writers did this for a reason. Really the only person who should be able to connect with all of the Lions is Allura, but Keith has been able to sense two lions and is able to pilot two lions as well. I don’t know exactly where this might lead but there is a saying:

Once Is Chance, Twice is Coincidence, Third Time Is A Pattern

I believe that this is a long foreshadowing of something that Keith and the whole team will have to deal with in the future. Maybe we are thinking about something happening to Shiro too much, and should look more at Keith and where his story is going, with his heritage and other aspects of his past. I don’t think anything big will happen in S3 (unless its at the end and we get another cliffhanger)with this “scenario”  but I think it might be something to watch as we learn more about Keith’s past in the future season.

Or maybe I just overthink stuff to much with this show  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just find it weird that the crew hasn't said anything upfront about Keith and Allura. You think they would; it would be so easy like, "of course, after all, they were together in the original series!" It wouldn't be some spoiler. Which is one of the main reasons I'm thinking they AREN'T planning to pair them together.

With the whole Keith and Allura relationship happening in the original “So it must be happening in Legendary Defender” thing kinda going on, I don’t think it will happen. The writers said that as of right now the team isn’t focused on romantic relationships but more on freeing the galaxy from the Galra, and if there is anything it will be a slow burn, big on the slow. The writers aren’t stick fully to the original plot, so I believe they won’t stick to this relationship or they will do it differently. And them not commenting on it, I don’t really see why they would say anything about it unless they felt like they need to clear up any issues regarding this relationship and the season has only been out for about five days, they have other things to worry about. 

And anyways, though Allura did apologize to Keith about her actions towards Keith after they discovered he was part Galra, I don’t fully believe it would work because of Allura’s feelings about the Galra, which is okay, Allura is allowed to feel that way after what they did to her family (but come on it was Keith!). Also in the original series Keith was half Arusian, which is a spices which is close to Arus (Altea) so there was a connection there for their relationship.

But with my feelings toward this ship/possible relationship, its not my favorite but I actually do enjoy it and would be absolutely be okay with it being canon.  

But if this does happen, oh well, it would be cool and interesting but I don’t see it actually happening, I actually see Shiro and Allura getting together more than Keith and Allura. 

I do believe they will bring this up in the future, bound to happen with fan questions, but I don’t see anything concert happening yet. But its only season 2 guys, we will have to wait and see.

And I just want to say that I have nothing against this ship/relationship, I do enjoy this ship and the content that many people create on here, but I’m just voicing my opinion.

shallura high school au? like maybe the paladins are all part of the football team or lit anything else like that that you want. hahhaha sorry, i dont have much imagination

But this is like the cutest thing ever. I’m gonna do this as kinda like a headcanon cause there is so much to this.

-So I saw this and thought you meant soccer and so I’m going with that cause I can absolutely see them in both American Football and European Football and I’ve always wanted to do something with Team Voltron and soccer

- Alighty, so Shiro and Allura would be Seniors, Keith, Lance and Hunk would be Juniors and Pidge would the incoming freshman

           - Allura and Shiro are like the stars of the team but when they first started out in their freshman year, they hated each other cause they both wanted to be team captain. 

           - Though after like two weeks, they found out they had a lot in common and Shiro could see that Allura had the potential to be a great team captain and decided to let her take the point and followed her lead. 

           - Shiro is the main striker for their team while Allura is the forward. 

          - Keith and Lance work well together on the field with each other being the right midfielder and back right respectively but off the field they fight like cats and dogs. 

          - Shiro or Hunk are usually able to break them up but since Pidge joined the team, they have had Pidge to jokingly (not really) remind them that this is usually how relationships start, it becomes the team mission to get them together along with Shiro and Allura 

          - (Both pairs are oblivious to their own relationship but want the other to succeed, it causes a lot of headaches for everyone, especially Hunk and Pidge.)

        - Pidge and Hunk play left back and goalkeeper respectively and can kick some ass. 

         - Pidge is fast and can duck and dive between the enemy team, stealing the ball from them. They are also an amazing strategist and can bring Team Voltron together to win.

         - Hunk can either be the immovable force or jump into the sky to defend the goal. Most of the other teams underestimate Hunk and everyone knows that’s the worse thing you could do, especially when he and Pidge team up.

- So this is suppose to be Shallura but I guess I made it more team-centric but I can absolutely see Shiro and Allura over coming this rivalry that they tried to have (which like I said, ended within weeks) and just resort to flirting 24/7, even in the middle of games, which can get on everyones nerves 

           - But if anyone brings it up, Shiro and Allura immediately deny it and will threaten them until they stop.

- Allura finally gets fed up on waiting for Shiro to ask her out and just walks up to him one day in the middle of practice and kisses him, and then asks him out on a date for that night. Shiro is too shocked to reply and Keith has to do it for him (”Sure, how’s 7 o’clock sound?” “Perfect. See you then Shiro.”

            - They end up having their first date out in the middle of the school’s soccer field and are spied on by the rest of the team and coach, Coran.

Alrighty, hopefully you enjoy this cause I could keep going but then things would get crazy. Maybe I’ll revisit this once I get through some other things cause I love this AU and have so many ideas for it!
