“i’m  sorry,  I  stopped  listening  after  you  said  I’m  cute.“  she  teases  back,  amusement  smile  upon  the  agent’s  features  as  she  gives  breathes  out.  in  the  end,  she  goes  to  reply  a  question  with  a  question.  “is  anyone  at  the  long  run  good  for  your  mental  health?  that’s  up  to  you,  really.  I  think  I’m  pretty  damn  great.  should  I  put  my  dating  credentials?“  doesn’t  think  that  would  help  her  that  much  considering  her  and  clint’s  divorce.  and  well,  other  dating  hasn’t  gone  smoothly.  “I’m  just  inviting  you  to  drink  a  beer.  don’t  worry  too  much  about  it.  and  play  jenga.“

his  head  hurts.  he  hadn’t  meant  to  suggest  that  bucky  didn’t  care.  he  knows  it’s  not  true.  their  relationship  may  be  made  up  of  a  lot  of  ribbing,  but  that  could  be  said  for  clint  and  most  people.  they’re  friends,  and  they  wouldn’t  be  that  if  bucky  didn’t  care  about  him.  it’s  just  a  product  of  pain,  a  head  injury  he’s  not  confident  isn’t  a  concussion,  feelings  he’s  totally  doing  a  good  job  of  keeping  under  wraps  and  every  unwelcome  thought  that  comes  with  it.  it’s  in  his  favor  that  bucky  is  …  weirdly  thick,  at  least  about  this.  he’s  a  smart  guy,  and  clint’s  tried  to  keep  to  the  metaphorical  feelings  shadows,  but  he’s  not  actually  good  at  subtlety.

his  head  hurts,  but  bucky’s  a  good  person.  he  doesn’t  deserve  clint’s  running  mouth,  he  shouldn’t  be  giving  him  that  look.  all  blue  eyes  and  real,  genuine  concern.  he  wonders  if  it’s  been  there  since  the  awful  sound  his  skull  made  connecting  with  the  floor,  or  if  it’s  about  what  he  said.  he  hadn’t  noticed  the  look,  before.  somewhere  in  the  back  of  mind,  his  lighten  the  mood  radar  pings.  makes  him  reach  up  to  pat  the  guy’s  cheek,  flashes  a  smile.   ❛   that’s  kinda  gay,  barnes.   ❜

bucky  doesn’t  know  what  this  guy’s  motives  are  …  so  his  gun  remains  up  ,  following  the  spot  between  the  guy’s  eyes  even  as  he  moves  around  into  a  better  position  .  ‘  what  do  you  want  with  stanford  ?  ’  he  says  ,  nodding  once  in  the  direction  of  the  building  across  the  road  .  specifically  to  the  seventeenth  floor  where  said  councilman  was  likely  now  heating  up  his  microwave  dinner  .  pretty  much  every  organisation  had  gone  into  a  meltdown  after  the  release  of  SHIELD’s  files  onto  the  internet  during  the  black  widow’s  info-dump  .  a  lot  of  the  corruption  ,  especially  within  the  government  had  been  weeded  out  thanks  to  the  intensive  internal  auditing  that  taken  place  in  the  aftermath  …  but  not  all  of  it  .  ‘  maybe  we  can  come  to  an  agreement  .  i  just  need  the  guy  gone  .  ’

                                    he shifted and his fingers held against the gun as he turned his head ever so slightly while listening to the man. the fall of shield had honestly been a blessing far as frank was concerned. like a list laid out of every asshole with too much power stepping on every man, and woman he could to remain on top. the sort of people that had controlled him, like rawlins. rawlins got what came to him and every asshole on this list would too. “ that’s the plan if you stop yappin’ at me. feel free to leave me to it and you won’t have to lift a damn finger. ” he confessed half expecting that this guy would have been here to stop him not encourage the act.

❛   i  used  to  be  captain  america.  i’m  never  condescending.   ❜  expression  remains  carefully  neutral  as  he  speaks,  both  grateful  they’ve  got  a  moment  alone  and  no  longer  sure  of  what  he’d  even  wanted  the  time  for.  there’s  no  going  back,  nothing  he  could  say  now  to  stop  this  god  awful  plan.  it’s  set  in  motion,  has  been  since  the  moment  bucky  got  it  in  his  thick  skull  that  this  was  the  way  to  go.  steve’s  clearly  not  doing  well  at  masking  his  displeasure,  it’s  never  really  been  in  his  skill set,  trying  to  busy  himself  though  there’s  nothing  to  do.  no  way  out  but  through.  

his  attention  does  turn  to  other,  as  it  often  inevitably  does.  everyone’s  always  on  him  for  his  hard  head,  but  bucky’s  no  better.  there’s  a  reason  he  hadn’t  talked  to  anyone  before  making  his  decision,  the  same  thing  steve  would’ve  done  [  and  has,  plenty  before  ]  when  he  knows  all  he’d  get  is  a  no.    ❛   what  do  you  think  i’m  gonna  say,  buck  ?   ❜  arms  cross  over  chest,  expectant,  spinning  the  conversation  on  it’s  heels.  ❛   i’m  gonna  trust  your  play,  that  doesn’t  mean  i’ve  gotta  like  what  you’re  asking  me  to  do.   ❜

“RELAX,  PEOPLE  WILL  THINK  I  DRAGGED  YOU  INTO  THIS.“  she  did  dragged  him  into  this.  but  they  have  to  be  subtle,  blend  in,  part  of  the  crowd.  she  presses  by  the  counter,  her  voice  low,  as  if  a  whisper  between  a  couple.  recon  is  often  easy  for  her,  and  fun  (  she  enjoys  the  free  drinks  and  overall,  just  the  rush  of  it  all  ).  Eyes  scan  through  the  room,  before  returning  to  his  side.  “We  are  supposed  to  be  happy  here,  Bucky.  Try  flashing  a  smile,  it  won’t  hurt  you.“  A  poke  to  his  chest,  it’s  light,  easily  confused  by  flirting  by  the  rest  of  the  crowd,  bringing  a  drink  to  her  lips  the  agent  glances  around,  head  nodding  behind  him.  “Behind  you,  three  guards  over  the  elevator.  Seems  no  one  can  go  down,  only  up.“  Which  means  this  is  an  underground  facility  case.  She  owns  clint  20  bucks.  “Two  more  guards  on  each  side.  Won’t  be  easy  to  sneak  through.“  It  should  be  just  recon,  but  well,  if  there  is  a  window  to  do  something,  she  is  not  going  to  miss  it.  She  does  have  Fury’s  clearance.  Hand  presses  to  his  side,  guiding  him  to  the  side,  so  he  can  be  able  to  see  the  situation  as  well.  “What  you  think?  Easy?“
