Of all the old Barks characters I didn't expect to see in DuckTales 2017, it's this guy!
Nor did I expect them to turn him into the Duckverse version of Solomon Grundy.

Carl Barks painting based on his 1949 story, Voodoo Hoodoo. That story, long out of print because of its racist stereotypes, is actually one of my first memories; it hovers somewhere near that point where you start to remember things. The story was eerie, weird. The zombie scared me.
When you feel like there is something pulling at you. I feel like my hoodoo voodoo books have been calling out to me. I’ve been so low I haven’t been reading but it feels weird not to learn more about that side. It’s like i belong there. I need to take it more seriously
