imo its a valid criticism of what kind of behavior we teach young girls to consider romantic BUT that… has to be tactfully discussed and tact isn’t a thing youtubers have lol

oh yeah im not against criticising disney, ive just always side-eyed it when batb (like most of the renaissance hits) involve a lot more spending time with each other and batb at least the romance doesnt happen until beast is nicer so like.... people take this thing at face value as being awful when really imo its one of the more believable romances 

also im 300% skeptical of people who are quick to jump on disney bc i remember distinctally how slow people are to jump on, say, dreamworks, like when people tried to point out httyd2 had a pretty weak “~strong independant woman~” character and people who had, months ago, attacked frozen, looked the other way or... defended it
