We woke up everyday listening to the whole compilation, dancing and drinking caipirinhas, making sure the running order is right. What I didn’t know at the time is that these moments were also the beginning of my adventure with Analog Africa. Which I am incredibly grateful for 🙏 André, Sam (check his IG where he usually posts great records @damn_fine_vinyl ), Alex, Samy and I grooved so much to Space Echo that confirmation was set and the lightning was ready to hit Mother Earth for summer 2016 ! Keyboards found fertile grounds in Cabo Verde which facilitated the modernisation of local rhythms such as Mornas, Coladeras and the highly danceable music style called Funaná, which had been banned by the Portuguese colonial rulers until 1975 due to its sensuality!
