Regarding Smug hate: Maybe it's a combination of most people first mandatory (as before and after that you get lots of freedom to choose whom moves to your island) campsite villager being smug, their villager count being rather small, (with some rather disliked and divisive designs) and a dose of the classic "they're popular, so now we hate them". The last one is kinda ironic considering how hipster-like smug villagers are. 😐

maybe it just seems especially weird to me cause like, villagers are so much nicer in recent games than in the older ones, so thinking they “harass” you now feels so weird to me as someone whose roof has been randomly painted ugly colors and whose bells have basically been stolen right outta their pocket lmao

Yeah, so far I’ve got 3-4 specific villagers I have in mind!

The only resident I’m sure of (so far) is Caroline. I had her in my main town for a while, but she fell victim to my indecisiveness. I’d love to have her back and I think New Horizons is the perfect place since she has a beach themed home in New Leaf.

The other two are the (yet unnamed) new goat and wolf villager. I wanna use some of the new villagers on my island and they’re my favorites so far.

I may also have Filbert bc he’s my fave, but I’m not sure if I want to include villagers from past towns or not.

Thank you! 😊 🌄 If you’ve played multiple games, do you like to look for villagers you’ve previously had or are you always looking for new faces to befriend? The only other main game I’ve played is New Leaf; in New Horizons so far I’ve been enjoying a mix of both old and new villagers! I’m really happy with my new villagers like Zucker and Dom but am also so stoked I found my old friends Wolfgang, Eunice, and Merry 💕

📦 How willing are you to let go of a villager? It really depends on the villager of course, but there is a feeling (especially in New Horizons) that you can always find them again if you search long and hard enough (or find someone else who has them!), which is comforting. :-)

I can respect that... As long as you don't forget the reason quite a few follow in the first place.

I couldn’t give less of a fuck. My blog is for me, first and foremost, and it became an eclectic mess of random shit ages ago. If people still want to follow, cool. If not, I don’t care all that much. If I start worrying excessively about what others want to see instead of just posting what I personally find funny or interesting at that moment in time, then running this thing starts to become like a job instead of a thing I use to alleviate boredom at my actual job.

Hypnosis Mic!! It’s mainly a series of drama CDs and stuff, but there’s a few different manga out there as well. And boy I hope it gets an anime because atm all the translating is done by fans, and wow is the lore hard to keep up with sometimes LMAO they’re always adding something new in--

Basically, it’s set in Japan at a time when lethal weaponry like guns and stuff is outlawed, and instead people use these microphones (the titular Hypnosis Mics) to fight with. Instead of attacking the body, it attacks the mind with whatever words/lyrics the user puts into it. In-story, most of the characters use it for territory battles.

If I could think of a series to compare it to, I’d say it’s like Ensemble Stars or Idolish 7, maybe? But with rap instead of idols.It can be a little hard to get into, admittedly, but the music is in most cases really damn good (and they’ve got most of it up on Spotify!!) and I absolutely love the characters.
