Motor mounts and update
After more research there is quite a few issues with the fitment of the VQ in the engine bay. The motor sits nearly flush to the firewall leaving no room for the upper part of the plenum (which comes off of the back of the motor because fuck me right). So options are cutting the firewall or searching for an aftermarket plenum that has the exit for the intake coming off of the front similar to the LS motors. The only issue with this is that the only aftermarket plenum i could find is nearly 3gs and is much higher than the original which will make for hood clearance issues. I would cut the firewall before i cut a hole in my hood as i want the car to be somewhat street legal and my daily for the summer. I have more work to do on this I am not sold all the way on one option or the other...
On another note motor mounts seem to be limited to McKinney mounts which, after some research, i found that the trans mount had to be modified to fit anyway. So, going against all my instincts, have decided to order an ebay knockoff (i know i know) for about 1/3 of the price and modify that version instead.
