I’ve been working on augmented reality applications for decades. I am motivated by the fact that I was blind and needed a wearable system that would allow me to get orientated within built environments. I designed HMDs (head mounted displays), built the first 3-D virtual reality social network within functional simulated cities, published the International Journal of Virtual Reality, consulted major international Telecom/IT/consumer electronics/Game companies and, served as a Bloomberg VR industry analyst. All of this to say that I know these technologies very well.
Today after many years of effort I am letting you all know these technologies are about to change the world. I hope to convey my sense of optimism about humans becoming enlightened by a virtual assistant conveying location, context and situational awareness. Your data under your control providing instantaneous access to information from trusted sources guiding you through life’s choices. I believe in people and trust their ability to make effective changes to save themselves, their children and the world. From knowledge comes power and given the facts people make good decisions, enhanced awareness and understanding from virtual reality and augmented reality are the technologies which will free us from lies, oligarchies and corrupt governments to evolve a better world.
