My pet rock just gave birth to a beautiful and healthy litter of pebbles.
Earth, probably
would have loved to see more of them :(
So I’ve always had a soft spot for the ‘narrator is actually one of the characters’ trope, esp when it turns out that they’re narrating the events to someone else long after they’ve happened.
And since VRAINS’ narrator seems to be Shoichi (at least it’s his va I’m like 99.9% certain) like, I love the idea of him narrating the events of the series to like, his own kid sometime in the future(b/c Kusa-dad is a good and the idea of him settling down and having a kid is just, soft, I love).
Like, pls picture, the final episode and we finish with the ‘ceremonial duel’ sort of thing (Yusaku vs whomever it is) and then the narration starts up and the scene suddenly shifts to nighttime and the interior of what is obviously a kid’s room, and Shoichi sitting beside the bed, narrating the story to the child in the bed. He stops, not b/c Playmaker’s story has ended, because as he clarifies it has not and Playmaker continues to have adventures with his friends, but because it is late and a certain small someone needs to go to bed.
He tucks them in, kisses them goodnight and we get a ‘goodnight dad’ as he leaves the room.
Bonus Pathwayshipping fluff, we following him to the living room where he sits down beside Ema, who’s reading/on her laptop.
