Obviously it was never going to go any other way because Yusaku Fujiki is a Protagonist and a Good Guy, but. Something I am noticing on my rewatch is that the knights of hanoi really hatched a whole plan that rested on the assumption that Playmaker would not walk away from a person in distress. That they could attack and hospitalize a young woman and bank on the fact that Playmaker was in the general vicinity at the time and would want to help her. Yusaku wasn't even responsible. He doesn't know this woman. He has no skin in this game. If he wanted, he could just let Blue Angel be in a coma and not needlessly endanger himself. But he doesn't. And Revolver (who at this point does not know Yusaku's identity, nor that Yusaku has a savior's complex for him specifically) hangs the whole plan on that.

It's such a notable thing about Yusaku that Ai's whole plan also hinges on the fact that Yusaku will doom himself rather than let innocent people suffer.
