his tongue wrapped around the last word with what could’ve been considered unnecessary emphasis and a cool, conspiratorial sort of smile made itself out of his mouth.

okay!!! eliot is bisexual and biromantic. it’s so sad because he has some really conflicting feelings about it. his baggage with moreau makes relationships with men a little more difficult. if only because he’s so very concerned about getting used again and what moreau did to him has left a very bad taste in his mouth. eliot’s always been confused about his sexuality. the one time he actually came forward with it, his dad kicked him out and he went straight into the military, never to return. and then moreau. moreau was there and pulled him in and they did things. it sort of set a standard for what eliot thought relationships with men were supposed to be. stupid, of course, but he was young and hadn’t had that many relationships, and exactly 0 with men.

he knows now that it’s not like that, but it’s still really hard to shake himself of that automatic assumption and it can be a little difficult to strip himself of the habits he formed when he was with moreau, ie. muting who he is to prop up his partner (man or woman this can be an issue, it’s just more of an issue with men), curbing his accent to seem more ‘refined’, muting and suppress his interests if his partner expresses disinterest. it’s better. but it’s not. completely gone. romantic relationships are hard for him, at least diving in is difficult at first. eliot’s learned to be upfront, especially with men, about his baggage, so people can bail early if they’re not willing to wait for him to get comfortable enough to make himself vulnerable. he’s proud, i think, now, of who he is. more proud than he used to be. he doesn’t pretend like he’s not bi. he might not talk about it all the time, but he won’t deny who he is. not for himself or for anyone else. this got long. LOVE MY BI SON.
