Job's Tears Vaijanti Malas Seed Beads from Vrindavan, India Supporting the Widows of Vrindavan JT0001 for just $21.50 Job's Tears, also called Imfibinga seed beads in Africa and Vaijanti in India, are small greyish white natural seed beads. The hole is a natural part of the seed. Seeds are approximately 6-7mm by 9-10mm. The first three photographs (with orange tassel) are hand knotted by us. The last four photographs (red tassel) are strung locally in the market. The strung beads are from Vrindavan, and are strung locally, with approximately 108 Job's Tears, but VARIES FROM 92 - 108, so this mala is not necessarily suited for chanting as is. One Rudraksha seed bead as guru bead, and little red cotton tassel. Approximately 540 total Job's Tears seed beads. The necklace mala is approximately 36 - 40 inches long (91.5 to 101.5cm), but varies slightly from strand to strand because the seed beads vary in size. Three variations: 5 knotted 5 unknotted 1 knotted The knotted malas are knotted by the ladies and are great for chanting malas - you can request a different colored tassel in "note to seller". Please note: These are NATURAL SEED BEADS!! They are not uniform! If you are looking for absolutely uniform beads in size, shape and color, I suggest you buy plastic. Also, we did not string these, and although they are in the "form" of a mala, they are sold as supplies i.e. beads to take apart and do what you will to them. That being said, you are welcome to use them as they are. NOTE: These are SEEDS! And as such, they are prone to seed-type deterioration, especially in the summer months. Sometimes, especially during the monsoon season, the supplier I get these from keeps the beads on mothballs because they are very prone to insect infestations otherwise. We always try to air them out before shipping, but that's a really persistent smell. The best thing is to spray with a 50:50 solution of vinegar and water, then rub with oil (a carrier oil like sweet almond oil mixed with a few drops of Tea Tree oil is great). And remember, these seed beads were made by GOD, not a machine. Your purchase supports our work here in India, bringing LOVE, HOPE and JOBS to the destitute widows of Vrindavan.
