Pitch GamVris is an underrated pairing.

The two have a lot of great parallels.

They're the descendants of two long lived and widely feared highbloods who achieved great infamy and success during their career, but both fall short of this legacy for different reasons. Vriska because she just isn't as smart as she thinks she is and Gamzee because, well, he gives zero fucks about it. Their character arcs regarding this fact go in separate directions. Gamzee eventually embraces his gruesome legacy after long process of losing what kept him anchored, while Vriska rejects it when she sees just how pathetic it is.

Both were abused by their lusi and end up idolizing an evil figure in order to cope.

Both characters are marked by disfigurements they get from female characters who like roleplaying.

Both abuse a specific disabled character for their own gain.

Both have dancestors who are seemingly innocent on the surface but are sinister underneath.

Both characters are partially responsible for doomed timelines that Terezi either avoids or fixes with some help from her precognition and both timelines arguably stem from the exact same coin flip.

And finally, the evil figure who they idolize and who inspires their evil actions ends up causing them great emotional and physical torment when they actually meet them.

As a contrast, Vriska is forgiven for what she's done despite her heel realization being retconned away while Gamzee wasn't forgiven and just plain never got a realization. He just got kicked around a lot.

Gamzee has a lot of reason to hate Vriska, as she abused Tavros and got forgiven for doing a lot of the same stuff he did, despite having similar motivation. If Gamzee did genuinely want to redeem himself, which is possible, thanks to Calliope, then a lot of the condemnation Vriska would throw at him would sound hollow.

Vriska, meanwhile, was the one responsible for shutting Gamzee down in the Retcon timeline, so she'd be in no mood for him. Not to mention what he did to Terezi in Game Over, which she may or may not find out by way of John or dreambubbles. His criticism of her would ring entirely valid, but she wouldn't listen so long as she had an excuse to just block him out.

That's not to say she'd have no valid points on him. After all, if Gamzee has so much in common with the person who crippled and abused Tavros, then what does that say about Gamzee? What would Tavros think of him if he saw him on the same level as Vriska?

The two would also be evenly matched.

As two of the most dangerous trolls in the session, they would be evenly matched in any bout of fisticuffs. They both did the most damage to the Black King, after all.

Gamzee has the trickery advantage. He's very unassuming, meaning Vriska would underestimate him, but he's shown to be able to manipulate Terezi and actually influence John's mind in ways more advanced then putting him to sleep, two things Vriska can't claim. If Vriska tries any mind games, Gamzee is gonna shut her down.

That said, Vriska has both Ancestral Awakening to just brute force him down if she needs too. That form could keep step with Bec Noir, after all. Not much Gamzee can do against that.

Calliope and John can mediate if things start getting out of hand. They have a lot of friends who might be willing to step in as a favor and both are strong enough to take down Vriska or Gamzee if things genuinely get that far out of hand.

The two have a lot of counters for each other, they make great foils, and they both have great points against each other that could force the other to improve.
