VS Sassoon Big Hair Soft Curls Review + My Everyday Curls
PRODUCT REVIEW
VS SASSOON WAVY ENVY
I purchased the VS Sassoon Wave Envy in the hope that it would do wonders for my hair and hopefully get that classic Lou Teasdale kind of look. Wrong. I'm not sure if the styler is the equivalent to the Babyliss Deep Wave but I definitely didn't achieve that grungy slept in hair that Lou always seem to have claiming using this styler. I'm not saying that Lou is lying about what styler she uses (NOT AT ALL) I think I just bought the wrong one. The Wave Envy gives a 'crimped' look to the hair looking to done and perfect...When I went out having used the styler I didn't receive the comments I wanted people saying "ohhh its very eighties". Now if thats the look your going for BYE, if not HELLO KEEP READING. I have some other stylers or ways to style your hair to achieve Lou's amazing locks. First of all I would recommend buying the correct styler which would be the Babyliss Deep Wave I haven't personally tried this styler but it seems as though it would be great for the look we are going for, I'm not 100% sure if the styler is available to buy in Australia, but I will keep an eye out and let you know. If you live intentionally LUCKY YOU!!! Babyliss seem to ship across the globe excluding aus.... It has a higher curve therefore giving you a looser wave and not so many kinks in the hair. The styler retails for $60 AUD so it isn't overly priced to some other stylers on the market. But if this isn't within your budget don't fret, because I have some handy tips you can do with just a plain straightener which I'm sure you all have. This wont give you the 'wave' more of a tousled look but I think it looks just as good if not better. Or try what I suggested in my pervious Product Review.
STEP 1) prep the hair using a salt spray. my fav's are the BUMBLE+bumble surf spray or the fudge urban salt spray. don't forget some sort of heat protectant I recommend the Redken one.
STEP 2) take a small section of hair
STEP 3) taking the hair create a 'S' shape
STEP 4) clamp down on the hair with the straightener whilst continuing to make the shape with your hair.
STEP 5) tousle hair making sure it doesn't look over done
STEP 6) finish with hair spray and your done!
So at the end of the day I wouldn't recommend the VS Sassoon Wave Envy unless you want that outdated crimped look. I would recommend the Babyliss Deep Wave but if thats not available for you try my tips and let me know how you go! :) xx
p.s this wasn't meant to turn into a 'how-to' sort of thing but i thought it would help!

should i buy a vs sassoon curl secret wand?
are they worth the money?
i've been curling my hair for the last hour or two with the curl secret and i'mc RYing becaUSE THE CURLS ARE SO BOUNCY AND I LOVE IT
dad got me the vs sassoon curl secret for christmas and it is AMAZING! i just tried it out and it's so much easier to use than you think and it works really well with long hair and it produces the nicest and the neatest looking curls and imo they look so much better than curling them with a hair straightener like they look more 3d???? honestly the best christmas gift ever!
