Donovan sat in the train compartment, watching as the Hogwarts express turned the corner, his mother fading from view as the students of the school for Witchcraft and Wizardry pulled forwards on their journey.

The eleven year-old Donovan was setting off for his first year. While he’d had a bit more awareness of the wizarding world than most children raised by muggles, due to his “condition”, the young man was still a bit on edge, excited to finally see the school that he’d been told about. Hogwarts.

Reaching into the pocket of his robes, he’d already dressed into them ahead of time, the boy fished out a chocolate bar, one of several that Donovan had stowed away for the trip, defeating the purpose of the healthier lunch Diana, his mother, had packed.

Having a bite of the Mars bar, he chewed for a minute, before the sound of the compartment’s door opening abruptly caused the chubby boy to nearly jump from his seat, turning to see who was busting in.

never mind the fact she probably had no idea that he was there, currently enrolled in nyada’s program, vocal book in his arm and dance bag over his shoulder.
