how does an alter even show up???? like, wut?????

Plurality being a coping mechanism, most alters serve some kind of “purpose” or role. If there’s a need that isnt fulfilled, sometimes a new alter shows up to fill it- either by splitting from another alter, or just forming on its own.

For example, Jupiter formed on his own when we were around 15, because we were failing to present professional when it was becoming necessary at school / jobsites. Thus, he became the social manager. He is in the vagueeest sense an introject (he does not identify with his source at all though so we don’t call him one), so i suppose a lot of “born” alters may have external inspirations

On the other hand, our previous host Star split from Kuiper to play the specific role of a “filter”, and then Saturn split from Star because he was handling most things externally and needed help managing the system internally.

Hiya! We've just stumbled across your blog and we absolutely adore your art style, and we're fans of the space theming for obvious reasons ^-^ As a system without any artistic skills, we were curious about how drawing yourselves helped with picturing yourselves in headspace. Did the headspace forms come first and then were drawn, or did drawing yourselves give a better idea of what you looked like (or a mix of the two)?

I think we all started with less of strict appearances, and moreso vibes/aesthetics?

When our previous host, Star, finally recognized we’re plural, he immediately had Mercury and Earth (the first two to surface to him) make picrews of themselves. They drew each other shortly after, but the picrews really helped them *decide* how they wanted to look

So now making a picrew image is our tradition when someone shows up (usually using this maker), then drawing helps us communicate specific appearance details we associate ourselves with -Sun
