[ he has watched with sad eyes as kira yukimura has destroyed herself, but has not dared to say a thing; the only person he feels up to talking to at this point is her, but she's been down on earth, destroying what had once made her so magnificent. they were never friends, not really, but he'd admired her, for doing what he couldn't. for controlling the spirit that was inside of her being, for accepting what had been thrust onto her without her knowledge. he admired her, & since his death, he thinks he has come to think of her as something more than what to aspire to be--- not a friend, not exactly; he has always known that if they were to ever meet again, kira would only ever look at him & remember her killing him, & even now, he still looks at her & hates her for it-- but she has long been forgiven, even if she has not yet forgiven herself. ]

[ the name leaves his lips quietly, unabashedly, as if it were a prayer to the deity that had stuck them here; not quite in heaven, not quite in hell. to get to heaven, you had to go through hell. it was their curse, it seemed. but he hadn't quite expected to see kira here when her time had come. she looks confused, terrified; horrified at the sight of him, & he can't quite bring himself to blame her. ]

"I don't-- It wasn't your fault. I don't blame you."

[ she looks prime to object, so he shakes his head & reaches out for her hand, & decides that maybe, with this woman at his side, he could make his way through hell & back to his mother, even if he's so many years late. ]

"C'mon, I couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather trapeze through hell with. Foxes for the win, huh?"

[ he winks, long lips forming a half-assed, but comfortable smirk. it's been a long time since he's had someone there to talk to, & he'll be damned if he's letting kira go all that easily. he will make her forgive herself, if it's the last thing he does; after all, it's the least he can do, in the end. she's suffered the burden of his death, after all. ]
