An open letter to whoever's job it is to make Lila the most hateable character possible:

Lila is not more evil than Chloe.

I am not a fan of Chloe, and I always believed that the fans are too much forgiving towards her actions cause she is a favourite. But I accept that her redemption arc is not insufferable, cause she face consequences for her actions, nobody likes her cause she is shit, Marinette is guided to be more tolerant to her instead of being accused of being evil for not liking her. But still, the bad actions of Chloe are really shitty.

Now I also believe that people think that Lila is more evil than Chloe for two reasons

They like Chloe more

Lila could get inbetween the popular ship

Lila has potential of being a villain and is getting away with her lies.

Lila is not willingly to listen or change.

BUT

But

But it shows that is more about the favourites on the fandom that the moral of the character.

When Chloe was a shitty person on the 1 season and half of the second, people always said.

Chloe is only a child

She does not deserve punishments, she deserve support

She is willingly to listen to Ladybug

And yeah, it is true, but if Chloe has a free pass for being a child, why not Lila?. And like Chloe has received a lot of support to being a better person and she still is shitty ( although she is trying, sometimes), like on the episode of the bear, her teacher, the queen bee disaster and Maledictator. Like Chloe has received a lot of support and tolerance so her change has being minimal (although acceptable FOR NOW).

Now people are harder on Lila cause she is not listening to advice, but I believe there are reasons for that.

Ladybug humilliate Lila in front of Adrien, and it was really rude the behaviour of Ladybug. So yeah, I would not listen to her too.

The people who are liars often hate themselves and have low selfesteem. So they can not face their true selves and for that they can not improve.

People also say(Lila was physical aggresive towards Marinette) but I want you to remember you that Matinette was confrontional and threatening towards Lila. (And Marinette did not have the best intentions on that moment)

Now, I am not trying to justify Lila actions, cause they were terrible. But if Chloe is having more tolerance for her behaviour Lila too, cause she is a child too. Lila just as Chloe do not do terrible things cause they awake everyday thinking (Mmmm how can I be evil today?) They have inner conflicts, they lack of guidance, they are both child that need to face consequences for their actions and then receive support.

And I think people mistake dangerous for evil. Lila is more dangerous than Chloe. But both of them have the same capacity of being evil, selfish and cruel, cause both are troubled children.

I want people to be critical, recognize the moral of your favourite character and their terrible actions. Just because you like Chloe does not mean that her actions are less bad than others.

Why the fandom and the show treats Lila as someone worst than Chloe?

Do not get me wrong, she is pretty bad and Chloe is "on the way to be better"

But like, Lila lies are kinda "harmless", she is seeking attention not trying to ruin someone life, as opposite to Chloe. If she is making a temper trantum, she would ruin the life of anyone, no matter if what she does could affect their dreams, jobs o anything.

Chloe almost get Sabrina father fired, and she is so bad towards Sabrina. I am ot trying to make anyone hate any of the characters, but let's accept that the difference towards evil actions is abysmal.
