arent there ways to monetize a tumblr through ads? also if the artist has a shop or commissions sharing their art brings customers, idk

i mean yes exposure has the potential to gain customers, but buying a commission or a print is an active form of consumption. on youtube, you can watch a video and hate it. not leave a like or a comment, not subscribe, and not share the video with anyone. you have done nothing but passively consume the content. but if you watched more than 60 seconds of it, the youtuber has made money.

i cant find any good resources for how the ads on tumblr work but it looks like you dont get money from ads if people dont go to your page? if ads do in fact work the same way as they do on youtube and reblog does equal money then i did not know that, ignore everything i said & i apologize for being wrong ^^;
