A servant, and a friend

A drabble for @n-o-i-d for her character @vxintas, and the verse made by her and @solitu. I so invested in this AU, it’s so interesting and I love seeing all the content for it, and the characters are just too much for me. 

Character: Sora

Verse: Servant to a demon god

Genre: Slight angst, fluff, friendship

It was usual day for the young servant, he had finished his chores for day and was in the library, reading up the literature, most of it was on demon and god kind, with very few limited human text. He came here every so often to brush up on his knowledge, he had to be re-taught basic things after his death and arrival in the underworld. 

Just then he heard something shatter, and a voice. Quietly sighing he closed his book and headed to the source of the disturbance, in the large living room some thing had been knocked over, including a now broke vase which was the shattering sound from earlier, it had been trashed so quickly, and there in the middle of the room was his master.

“Sir...” He said as he heard weeping coming from the god, this was one of his outburst, probably to do with his son, the current ruler of the underworld, their relationship was... Complex. That’s all he could say about it.

“You shouldn’t damage your property like this master... It’s pointless.” Sora said slightly scolding his lord who just groaned and weakly gestured his arm.

“That’s what I have you for...” Vain responded, his voice slurred, his behaviour was as if he was drunk but he hadn’t consumed any alcohol, he just dealing with his grieve, problems with Vanitas, and just overall an emotional wreck.

“Why doesn’t he just accept my love...?” He groaned out throwing some glass sculpture across floor as it broke while the young butler just sighed again, he then walked over to his master, throwing his arm over his shoulder, helping him to his feet.

“Come on sir, let’s get you something to eat, get your head clear, and talk...” He was firm with the other who didn’t even fight as he followed.

In the kitchen he had sat Vain down on a chair, placed some cutlery and glass of water before him. He then got to work cooking, he knew how much his master enjoyed meat, so prepared a rare steak, he didn’t where it came from exactly but he cooked up like the recipe he read in of the books. It was seasoned, cooked medium well, served with a side of vegetables as then placed the plate before Vain.

“You think meat is gonna make me open up?” He snorted at his servant who didn’t responded.

A few minutes had passed, Vain had finished the steak, the now empty plate was before him as he leaning on the table with Sora started washing up. So much that earlier comment he thought to himself as he the demon began speaking...

“I just don’t know sometimes... Have I served my purpose? Is there nothing left for me now? Vain would rather spend time with mortals than his own father... No offence.” He said as Sora just shrugged at it as he didn’t mind.

“He holding things together here in the underworld... I just wanna be useful. I want... I want him to need me, to want me by his side.” The banished god gently tapped at the counter, thinking about all his troubles.

“Is that wrong?” He looked at Sora, the youth then returned to his master side, Vain looked at him for a response. 

“No. You want to be near your son, that’s alright, though your methods of going about it are a little forward, sometimes childish, irresponsible, and no regards for boundaries...” He said as Vain looked annoyed at Sora’s response. “But... I also think it’s sweet how much you love him.” He said smiling faintly, the god eyes widened a little as he stared at Sora for a moment.

“Your intentions are mostly good, and you mostly stay out of the way as not bother him, but I know that he loves you too.” Sora continued smiling at Vain.

“So whenever you’re upset or having an outburst, or doing something foolish... I will be there to clean up after you, make sure you’re healthy, and support how ever I can. Because you gave me a second chance, a new beginning, even though it would’ve been easier to eat me, or turn me into a demon.” He said as he dusted off some trash on Vain’s clothing.

“You have a loving heart, deep down under all that craziness... At least that my opinion of you, when you’re not behaviour immaturely.” The human soul said all serious but smiling still.

“Well I’ll go clean up the living room, you should probably rest up master, it will be good for you.” He said as he started to leave the kitchen, Vain just sat there watching Sora leave him.

“Sora...” The brunette stopped just as he was about to leave as he turned to look at the god.

“I... Uh... Thanks...” His tone was quiet as Sora faintly smiled, bowing before his master as he then left to attend to the mess. 

“Glad to be of service my master.”

his lofty smile danced happily as he was grinning from ear to ear. he was happy that he met this person, for that they were the first he met that was not human in this newly regressed world. chuckling softly, saiduq tilted his head and beamed his smile at the raven, his happiness bouncing in the atmosphere. ❝  it has been... such a long time since... i have met someone that... isn't human. it seems you... are the first for me... to meet directly... in this new world. i am happy about this... surely you would know... where the shining one is, yes? ❞

“Lia-” Void cut himself off as he stared at the being in front of him. No this wasn’t Lian. The keyblade would be able to tell if it was him. Whoever this was gave off the same air as Lian and looked similar to him. It left Void feeling a bit confused. After all, Lian and his beloved Master were nearly identical and Void still felt the urge to call Lian by the title Master despite Lian’s request for him not to.

“You’re not Lian...”

They didn’t need to say anything, since the day they met; it was like they were destined to be together. The Young Hades loved her with his whole life; he planned to live all the eternity by her side; she was beautiful as a woman and as a man; he met her as a man at first because when she signed up in the coliseum, it wasn’t allowed to women to enter. When she finally had the chance to fight against the God, he proved to be strong, the strongest demon of their kind. Vain was fascinated, she was perfect, graceful, gorgeous, kind, intelligent, it was all what he wanted, all what he needed from a woman. Norien was going to be the mother of his children, and when the news arrived Vain was tearing up in happiness. He was going to be a dad! He was going to have a child, their seed of hapiness, they will become in a family. But that didn't happen, fate is cruel sometimes and it took away what he loved the most...her life. Vain was devasted, he didn't want to continue existing, he thought several times of killing himself, he couldn't stand it, he needed her, he needed her to be happy, to keep going---she was his only support and then. Their son. His only son. the miracle of their pure and sincere love...he couldn't let it go, Vanitas needed him. Vain NEEDED him...too. So he tried, to be the best dad, he gave him everything, the small demon grew strong, he had love, he had it---but something, deep inside of the God was really broken---he needed Norien by his side...so he made the necessary to bring her back, even if that meant to leave his own son alone... // @vxintas
