Social butterfly Gold did not cope well with feelings of isolation. And, somehow, at this ball surrounded by fellow deities, creatures on his level, who he should be able to relate to in ways he rarely got the chance, that was exactly what he felt. He supposed he was contributing to the issue by not being as outgoing as he usually was, but he just felt... disconnected.

And then he saw her. A kindred spirit of sorts. He was by her side in an instant.

“Hello,” he said in his usual cheerful tone, borderline singing the word. He wasn’t too familiar with this particular deity, they must have been from a region that didn’t border on his home, but he did recognise the dark presence, and the fact that that body was more than just an illusion.

Like his own.

“You look lonely all by yourself over here. The others aren’t very approachable, huh...”

The sharp voice startled him; Crap! Ranger. Worse yet, not just any Ranger, but that girl, Kate. Ice held up his hands defensively, sporting a sheepish grin while hastily backstepping away from her.

Asuia shrugs and makes a hand gesture, and not even a second later they’re being circled by what look like stars - four of them, golden in colour. They reach for one and pluck it out of its orbit, holding it up in demonstration, like a shiny little gem between their fingers.

“He’ll be fine. Possibly. Maybe. It’s called non-destruction removal for a reason.”

“Now, I’m not angry. Yet. And I am giving whoever is responsible the chance to come forward on their own and give it back, consequence-free. But failing that, I will be.”
