Vyn And Bear It
Description: Kajetan runs into Vynair again.
“Oh. It's you.” Vynair says seeing a wave from Kaj.
Kajetan offers a chuckle and a small wave with his free hand. "You look better when your not drunk off your ass. “Mm, don't really agree with that.” Pondering that for a moment, Kaj tucks stray bits of hair behind his ear. "And why is that?" Vynair sat up a bit, scratching at his stubble lined chin a moment. "Just think the world looks a lot better when the eyes are blurred." With that he raises and inquisitive brow. “What of your....bear? Or was that a dream. I could have sworn there was a bear at the inn...” Kajetan gave a soft chuckle. "Perhaps you need to find better things to look at in the world if you require them blurred to find them worth looking at." He moved as people passed then decided to move out of the road all together. A warm laugh left his lips and a smile lit up his face at the comment. "There was a bear. He now resides with a noble protecting his estate. I can't afford to keep a bear but you have not lost your mind in that regard yet." Vynair clicked his tongue upon the roof of his mouth, remaining slouched upon his mount. "That is good, then. Though curious the guards would let such a thin pass." Then he turned his head, coughing into the crook of his arm. Once the gunk was cleared from his throat, did he grumble. "What you mean by that prior comment? That I have to look for better things?"
Kajetan twisted the lantern about in his fingers and gave the slightest shrug of his shoulders. "I couldn't tell you. He looked lost and hungry. I fed him and got him out of the city." His eyes locked on the man examining the way he slouched forward before he answered the question. "Well that all depends. Something in the world must make you happy enough without it being so fuzzy you can no longer tell what it is." The elf's left brow arched upwards as the words were said as if to make it a question. Vynair would offer a simple shrug, metal giving a scrape from the subtle movement. "Yeah, maybe." It seemed the elven man wasn't so keen on telling the lantern holder what exactly held his interests. After a moment he took to turning his mount around, hooves sounding against the cobbled floor. "What's that blasted thin for anyways? You scared of the dark or somethin'?"
Kajetan smiled softly at the words and slowly stooped to settle the lantern on the ground without a sound. With both hands free, they moved to the flowers in his hair before he slowly unwove the rose from the mass of starflowers. The stem to the bloom was squiggled like a snake. Taking a step forward he handed it to the man with a chuckle. "Well here is one thing that I find lovely to look. No booze required." He looked around as he picked up the lantern curious about what had made the mount unhappy.
Vynair's Talbuk seemed at ease, if anything it looked a tad bored. The rider however, brought feathery brows up high upon the elf offering him a rose. His lips peeled back, letting out with near bark of a laugh. "Do you make habit of giving drunkards flowers?" The Paladin didn't reach for it, using his hand rather to lift his goggles up.
The full lips twisted upwards into a devious smirk his tone changing, "Ya ain't drunk t'day sir." He scrunched up his face deciding the words just sounded weird coming from his mouth instead of funny. Clearing his throat he spoke again. "Tonight you don't seem to be a drunk mess and you are not threatening my life. Consider it a token of thanks for the later." He then pressed his lips together before adding. "Either that or perhaps I am choosing to take your friend's word on that whole heart of gold under the drunk lunatic.”
Vynair had perhaps only just now caught on to the fact a violin was being played. The look on his face was that of dread. What was going on here? Sweet music? Roses? He might barf. A sober look befell Kajetan, nostrils flaring as he spoke. "He ain't my friend. So don't go on listening to him.” He would however, lean to the side to reach for the rose with plated fingers.
Kajetan raised a brow as his hand reached out to give the man's hand a swat after the rose was taken. It wasn't hard which was probably a good thing because the armor surely would have won out against bare skin. "Now that isn't very nice to say. He at least cares enough for you to keep you from getting into trouble after you get drunk." He replied. Vynair blinked, recoiling his hand as the elf gave it a nice swat. It was a laughable gesture. "You don't know shit. You ever deal with Death Knights before? They only want one thing." A look of distaste soon surfaced, gaze peering across the Exchange. “He only lingers because he likes to make me suffer. It's like a fly to horse shit.:
Kajetan actually let out a very soft chuckle. "I have and they are all different. Most are very...," He tried to think of a nice way of saying morose. Blinking, Kaj turned a bit seeing the bear moving to hold out his hand towards the creature. "What is it with you? Everytime I see you a bear appears."
Vynair turned his attention back to Kajetan, holding the rose somewhat...awkwardly. "What b-" Then his eyes fall to Ammon. There is a long pause....as if he didn't recall the creature. “Oh-- fuck.” Ammun, the bear, continues to stare, tongue lolling out of his mouth. He starts to nose insistently at Vynair's pockets and bags for treats.
Kajetan takes a small step back and grins ear to ear. "I think you attract bears." Vynair's brows shot high as his Talbuk just....keeps on chilling. It was either a really calm mount, or a stupid one. "Shut up. No I don't." His hand with the rose extends towards the bear, pressing it to a grizzly snoot. "I know this bear, however." Then he cranes a look back, dark emeralds on Lerodian. Kaj waves at Lerodian.
Lerodian crosses his arms, just sort of looking on sternly. Who exactly he's mad at is hard to tell. But Ammun is happy, at least, opening his mouth and closing it gently around Vyn's hand.
“I guess the bear likes roses. Ha,” Vynair said as his features drew on a shit eating smirk as he watched Lerodian a while longer, before peering at the bear that now had his plated hand in his mouth. “Ammun, right? Look at you! I don't remember your master's name, though. But it's okay. You're more important than him anyhow. It's 'cuz he's such a smelly, grumpy, crusty, old fart! Yes he iiiis. --”
Kajetan rolled his eyes just a little not bothered at all over the rose. "Mmm... maybe I was right on bears having better tastes." He glanced towards whom he supposed was the bear's master. "Why stand over there?" He inquired beckoning Lerodian over. Lerodian said, “I'm alright, thank you. He's working, he should know better.”
Ammun tries to rise up onto his back legs, massive front paws on the talbuk, to give Vynair a proper slobbery hello. Time to test how chill the animal really is.
23:50:40 Kajetan-WyrmrestAccord glanced from the bear to the man then back to the ranger. "Which one is working?" Vynair was sweet talking the bear, bringing over his other hand to grab at the side of it's maw and give it a good rubbing; squishing plush bear cheeks. The Talkbuk raised his head at the sudden weight applied, eyes widening ever so slightly.
Kaj took a small step back as he folded one arm across his chest trying to hide the ear to ear grin over the whole situation.
Ammun seems to delight in the attention, letting go of Vyn's hand and headbutting him affectionately instead. He makes a low rumbling noise, rubbing his huge skull on the comparatively small elf.
Vynair is just really into this, okay? Fuck everyone else. This bear was wholesome as hell. "See, lantern holder? This brings me joy of which I do not need booze for." He knocks his skull into the bear, having a thick noggin of his own. The Talbuk seems agitated, ears flat and tail swishing. Lerodian at this point just looks like the bored husband waiting for his wife to get out of Sephora. He turns his attention back down the lane while his out of control grizzly tries to marry some elf on a talbuk. For fel's sake.
Kajetan took one more step back simply admiring the picture. "Mmm... and you look much better for it." He said pleased something had caused the man to smile. "Kajetan though I suppose lantern holder works until I put it down."
“Ahhh-- Kajetan. Right.”
"And you might be?" Kajetan replied after giving Vynair a nod.
Vynair's hands gave Ammun a good tug back, attempting to ease the excited creature back. "Now you settle down before Seher starts kickin'." Then he snakes a look back to Kajetan. "Vynair."
Ammun drops heavily back down to all fours, but he seems a little rowdy now. He crouches low, trying to do a sort of army-crawl under the talbuk, his mouth open and making a sort of debatable play sound.
“Pleasure and congratulations. You officially loose the 'most cranky elf' title to your friend's owner.” Kajetan said as hegestured towards the ranger as he finished the sentence.
“Why do you assume I am friends with all these people?”
Lerodian gives vyn a bit of an exasperated look. “He's talking about Ammun.” Vynair's Talbuk wasn't having it. The battle hardened creature side-steps on his own, causing the Paladin to finally pay attention to Seher's antics. A hand rakes through the Talkbuk's mane, free hand waving off at Lerodian. “Hush, gramps.”
Kajetan gave him a grin his eyes sparkling with a teasing mirth. "I don't know people typically don't get that excited over a bear."
Lerodian rolls his eyes and gives his head a shake. Ammun, meanwhile, nips at the talbuk's legs. He flops onto his back, clearly trying to play; but not everything wants to play with a nine-foot grizzly.
Kajetan chooses to step around the bear moving towards the only person in the conversation that seems to not be happy, Lerodian, “So what makes you smile”
Vynair spoke to Kajetan, or tried to before his Talbuk did a strange prance at being nipped; clearly uninterested as his nostrils flared and head bobbed aggressively. The Paladin soon spoke to his mount in smooth Thalassian, trying to ease him. “Calm, Seher. You're fine.”
“Ammun, that's enough. Come.” Lerodian barked before looking at Kaj. “Being left alone, primarily.” Kajetan let a brow raise not seeming to believe that completely but letting it go.
Lerodian turns to the bear, snapping his fingers. The next command he gives in Amani, and the bear seems to take sharp note of it, rolling quickly to his feet. “You'll have to forgive me, but I'm not interested in making new friends right now.” He replied.
Vynair's hand eased over the tan colored pelt of his mount, gaze falling to Lerodian with a knowing smirk. After a moment he spoke up. "Perhaps it's time I stable my companion and don't talk to him, Kajetan. He's a crusty ol' grouch; far more than myself!”
Lerodian fixes a sort of critical look on Vynair. "I'll walk with you. I need a word."
Kajetan offered a smile and gave a nod. "Of course." He moved back towards his previous company. “Don't have too much fun yourself.”
Ammun is crawling back toward Lero, like if he goes slowly enough he won't get in trouble for not moving at all.
Vynair snorts, nearly eye rolling. "Great. I'm totally thrilled." Then an easy smirk resettled on his face, gaze ticking to Kajetan. “What do you take me for? --Don't answer that.” He turns his Talbuk, giving a glance to the ranger before he eased the mount to walk on. It wasn't like he was going to wait on the redhead.
Kajetan couldn't help but smirk. "Oh but I want to. I was going to say someone far less cranky than him. See you around.... and I am glad to see you do realize something other than booze can make you happy.” He added offering the man a wave.
Lerodian grunts.
“See ya.” Vynair says with a wave.
