The House has YET AGAIN ignored my letter on the importance of raising the curve on Nell Street by 3° before winter, or the carriages run the risk of sliding into the inn on the outside of the curve.

No matter how simply I explain the science behind it, they choose to toy recklessly with citizens' lives 🙄

Nothing to do but fill out more paperwork and file yet another complaint with the officials who ought to care more about infrastructure.

Feels like sharing my d&d character,, I just use a pre-existing oc lolll (yap under cut)

(p.s her axe isn't THAT big, I just like drawing chibi/semi-chibis with huge weapons lol)

Honestly there's a lot going on, I know. But I want to show her character through her design alone and I lowk wanna see how much references I can put LOL She's a barbarian so I know I wanted her to give off the typical primal barbarian look, and I want her to look "wild".

I reference a few things from various media that Im interested in in her design ,, I'd like to point them out, actually. Firstly dsmp (since it's quite a number),, there is the war axe in reference to the axe of peace, a war pick in reference to the toothpick (both of which are techno's. A huge inspo of her). The blood vines coming out of the skull are the vines from the crimson egg. Red stitches are revivedbur's stitches. And the bandanas on her arm is the color of clingy duo's bandana. Some of these are references without a clear meaning, I just reference them simply because I want to

Next in line is Ares. He's another huge reference for her. She's wearing a vulture skull with the feathers in reference to him. Also her belt is loosely based on a boar (double reference to him and tech). The little coins in her hair and necklace is a reference to Charon's obol (?. Oh and her gloves r supposed to reference ancient studded boxing gloves (I think)

I also made other references to r1999. Like rubuska's outer(?, tooth fairy's teeth necklace, and undertale's bravery soul (orange heart stitched in). Also put barbed wires on her hair because??? Something about keeping something in or out, or about protection

Her hair is also untamed and just horrible with straight parts and random wavy ones because she rarely takes out her braids. The sword sheathed there is a scimitar, which I already sold for a little extra cash (it's not much but that's okay). She's definitely the type to take whatever scrap fabrics there are and use it. Also she 100% takes something from a foe as a keepsake. (Yeah, that's to justify the random dsmp references at the start)

I think it's already obvious that judging from all that, they're just references to strength, a fight, deth , journey, and wilderness. Which in my opinion, explains her character pretty well.

Oh and, I'd like to show her first design as a comparison. It's not "bad" per se, I just don't like it. And I simply wanted to include more stuff because this one below doesn't really tell much about her (imo)

Keeping his design simple cuz he was initially an npc. also hummingboar is friends. (Yap under cut)

So we were having a side quest yesterday. A musical village. It was a fairly easy quest, altho we didn't catch a few hints from the DM lol

Our party were given a musical instrument (in this case, a flute), our task was to bring that flute to a village called Smurfland. On our way, we met The Guide (aka Hermes) deep within the forest and we asked him about Smurfland. He revealed that he knew of the village, he used to live there, yet he refused to elaborate further, saying it's best to not know. Tho he agreed to accompany our travel to the village

Long story short, turns out the village was terrorized by a griffin that HATES, and I mean, DESPISES music of all kinds (hence why the said musical village is devoid of any music or even sound when we arrive. Even the villagers refuse to talk). The bard in our party played the flute which made the villagers horrified, and the sound called upon the griffin.

Yada yada we got attacked, and my character (who's a barbarian) hid behind The Guide like half the playtime because she played the flute so horribly that she pissed off the griffin lol. The Guide helped by playing the flute and successfully charmed the griffin long enough to let the druid in our party talk to it. Something was on its neck and when the druid tried to reach it, the griffin snapped out of its trance

We made very little progress after that due to our bad rolls and The Guide ended up helping us by striking the griffin down, giving him the stunned(? effect. Enough for my character to find a bottle with a note chained on its neck. It was a musical sheet, upon taking it out. And in the end, the bard in our party and The Guide did a duet, playing the song from that sheet and saved the day yayyyyy

Oh and the griffin is our party's pet now, because the druid talked with it some more. We named it Vasaf. And my character successfully persuaded The Guide to join our adventure

The DM revealed later that he's an aasimar bard which.... makes sense. Aasimar is a "heavenly" race, basically. And him being a bard explains his ability to charm easily. I gave him a Laurel wreath as his "halo" and charcoal freckles because those are aasimar's trait iirc

Context: was playing d&d w my friends and one day they joked about adding Hermes in one of the sessions and asked me to roll (I got a pretty good roll). Today, I joined the side quest and they ACTUALLY added him as a sorta npc m genuinely frying😭😭 oh and I successfully charmed him into joining our party so there's that❤️‍🩹 I guess we got a +1 now

He goes by The Guide and he's an aasimar bard☺️ I'll see if I can doodle him LOL

(Real talk tho, but I think Hermes would be a rogue, he just gives off that energy yanno)
