the manor being pulled apart was .. not uncommon for adelinde to wake up to but .. this was different entirely. the head maid blinks as she walks through the door of the dawn winery to find portraits, papers and all sorts of things in the foyer of the manor, leaving her perplexed at the state of things. she looks questioningly to one of the other maids who appeared as if she were about to cry, turning away and scurrying off as her gaze fell upon her.
adelinde exhales, closing her eyes as she went on the search for the master of the manor, going through rooms til she found whom she was looking for. " . . master diluc ? what is going on -- what's all that in the foyer ? " \ hi diluc have mom after u've had ur whole world fall apart again.
"Well, 'all that'... Is all that belonged to the man who came before me."
Bitterness keeps Diluc from addressing the late Master by name, or by any of the titles he'd gone by in years past.
He didn't even deserve to be called Father.
"I want it all gone. Burn it. Toss it out. Sell it. Put it in storage. Ask if Kaeya wants it. I don't really care what happens to any of these things, so long as I don't have to look at them."
His heart gives a squeeze, and Diluc exhales audibly through his nose as he sorts through the shelves that line his office, separating out anything that once linked to Master Crepus.
To think that the man he once admired so deeply was little more than one of them...
He felt like such a fool for ever believing that Crepus was a good man -- he should have known that the presence of that delusion in his home was extremely suspicious.
"There's a letter on my desk. He said not to share it, but read it if you want. I'm not giving him the right to such privacy when he has shamed me like this."
