Another short story. This time for jacinter.

No warnings: its jacinter

Jacin groaned.

"Winter, I read to you yesterday." He said, trying to placate the little six year old before him. She frowned and grabbed his hand with her little ones.

"Please Jacin! You're my favorite!" She exclaimed, holding his blue gaze wifh her own hopeful ambers.

Jacin sighed. Guiding her to her window seat, he grabbed a book and sat her down. He settled in next to her and opened the small, leather-bound book; an earthen fairytale. Winter, with enthusiasm, wrapped one of his arms around her shoulders and leaned into him.

Jacin began reading. Winter listened intently to each of his words, as if each of his words were the most important thing to ever be said.

"-the prince kissed her, waking her from her deep and magical slumber. The dwarves gathered around, trying to catch a glimpse of the beautiful, awoken princess. The prince-"

"Why did the princess need the prince to wake her up?" Winter asked, her head cocking to the side in question.

"I don't know. That's just how it was written." He said.

"Why can't the princess wake up on her own?"

"Winter, if you were asleep and you could only wake with true love's kiss, wouldn't you want a handsome prince to kiss you and wake you up?" He asked.

"No. I'd want you to come wake me up." She said, a smile blooming on her face.

"But I'm not a prince."

"You're my prince!" She exclaimed before skipping off, curly hair bouncing with each hop.

Jacin felt a heat rush to his face, making him feel warm. He's never had this happen before. It was strange. There was a feeling in his chest as he watched her bounce away. A kind of happiness that she would rather have him than a prince.

Cuddle Time

wrote a little jacinter ficlet. i couldnt help myself.

“Jacin!” Winter whined. Her full lips were down turned in a pout. Her big, beautiful eyes were pleading. Her body was enveloped in one of his hoodies, giving her a comfy tired look. They were currently lounging on the couch, Ryu at his feet, watching Netflix, though Winter wasn’t interested.

“No.”

“But I want cuddles!” She said, a tint of sadness, making him feel guilty. He wanted cuddles too, but later he would have to go pick up Kai from the airport. If he got too comfortable with her, he might not be able to leave. Cinder was counting on him.

Kai, who had been on a three day trip to London for business, was coming back and Cinder, who was sadly not able to pick him up due to her mechanical engineering test, volunteered Jacin, who she only told the day of. Jacin wasn’t particularly angry or upset, just a bit annoyed. No one told him until a few hours ago. He told Winter about it and, to say the least, she was a bit upset. Today was Sunday, cuddle day. No errands, no worries, no distractions. That was the agreement. He had broken the “rule”.

“Then you’ll have to wait until I get back.” He glanced at the clock; another hour or so till he had to leave. Winter shifted over to him and grasped his arm. She slid her body under his arm and tucked herself snugly into his side. Jacin sighed.

“I’m not getting out of this, am I?” Winter looked up at him and beamed. A flush of heat rushed to his cheeks.

“Like you had a chance.” She said playfully. Jacin sighed again before a smile tugged at his lips. That’s his Winter, ever the persistent one. He let himself relax next to her body.

He supposed he couldn’t deny his love anything. Not that he wanted to. Though he acted like he didn’t want them, he probably loved them more than Winter.
