This is a stilt, one of many common birds in the Shallows, along with flamingoes I've already drawn and whatever other South Australian sea/shore birds exist. Y'know, seagulls, pelicans, plovers, fairy penguins, cormorants, spoonbills, etc and so on. The stilt's just kinda representing them all because I can't be arsed drawing anymore seabirds unless they actually turn up.
The sandskipper is actually just a mudskipper, but the Shallows are sand, so, sandskipper. They spend most of their life not in water, but they are fish, so I have no idea how they do. They can breathe by keepint water in their gills and also absorbing oxygen through the lining of their mouths or something? Idk. Mudskippers are weird. Mostly I just need things to populate the Shallows
