Last moments of daylight - oil on linen - 100cm x 100cm *Available directly from my studio* This piece is based on a combination of plein air paintings and photos I took in Wadi Shawka. I’d finished a day of painting and filming with @joehawkins_films and @symijackson and had packed up our stuff to hike out of the Wadi. As we reached a viewpoint we came across this stunning scene of light hitting the side of this rock face. We took a rest here and snapped some photos and a little more footage. This light lasted moments before turning an inky purple and forcing us to head out to the safety of the jeep but was so beautiful.
