OCEAN’S DAUGHTER // MOON’S WARRIOR
katara & sokka of the southern tribe by spring & bean
❛ what do you remember about your mother ? ❜
@waerior liked for a starter !
“ c’mon, sokka, don’t be such a downer. it’s not that big a deal, anyways, so stop freaking out at every little thing. ”
@waerior // s.c.
@waerior STARTER CALL.
A general look of disdain crosses his face, mouth twitching. The little water tribe boy was getting more on his nerves than he wanted to admit.
“--I’m sorry, were you saying something?”
we love you
okay but counterpoint: i love you guys
SOKKA : ( @waerior )
when he hears ——— that SHE IS GONE he doesn’t hesitate. he goes. immediately, fighting his way to save his sister, running. sokka doesn’t even think about any of his actions as he attacks those around him. he just wants her back. that lightning crazy mean girl has no idea what’s coming his way. his expert plan works ——— well almost. when katara is back, he is so overjoyed. he doesn’t feel it. sokka sits with his back against the ship, looking at the map when he feels it.
‘ katara — ‘ sokka calls, when he immediately falls to the side. the pain is burning. how did he miss it? he doesn’t even remember how it….got there? did azula hit him with the bolt? he doesn’t……sokka can’t remember and now the pain…..is so blinding he can’t focus. he doesn’t want to die. he doesn’t. he shouldn’t. ‘ something’s wrong — my side, ‘ he takes off his fur to show the blood coming from his stomach and sokka feels it, feeling so lost anad dizzy. ‘ katara — i — i don’t want to die. ‘
THE FIRST THING SHE FEELS is relief. her brother appears in the doorway of a darkened tunnel, moss grows on the sides of the walls, and in a tiny refuge does katara SIT UP, half - expecting another FIRE NATION GUARD to take her to her worst fears ( HER ! ). but it was not a large man in THREATENING ARMOR. it was sokka. sokka. the next thing she remembers -- he’s leaning over her, a strange look in his eye. katara feels something on her cheek. salty, wet. a TEAR. is he crying over her ? her, with the burn - marks that covered her arms, wrists, legs, stomach. her, his SISTER.
everything comes in waves and flashes. a RETURN to their base, a grouping of people she could hardly RECOGNIZE. aang’s voice, toph’s voice, sokka’s voice. and then ? HOME ? no, but it was cool water, a moment where katara could see BLUE as aang places her in river’s current. it is later -- when KATARA watches her brother fall -- that she recognizes the DIRE SITUATION. blood stains the wooden boards of the ship that they had made their way onto. aang moves faster than her to her brother’s side, but katara is not far behind.
‘ -- ... SOKKA. ’ it is a burst of emotion ; raw and hurting, and as she moves closer, katara’s hands are already reaching for the nearby waves. ‘ sokka, NO. ’ she could not say anything else ( her throat still burned from SMOKE AND FLAME ), but her hands move. they move to rip the clothing darkened red to reveal a BURN. they move to guard themselves in water ( OH, how she wished she had anything more to give ! ) before resting over the area of injury. another BLUE flash, and katara watches as the wound BARELY shuts, still painful and red and ANGRY. ‘ sokka, i CAN’T... -- ’ she is not capable. katara looked downwards, saw the burn marks on her own arms, on her own hands, and further, towards the wound that now TAINTS her brother’s side. ‘ i'm not... STRONG ENOUGH. ’
me 2 bean : let’s ruin the dash
bean, a true ride or die : ok
@waerior asked : “ what ?? no ‘ bless you ? ’ i’ll remember that . ”
‘ oh, i'm SORRY, ’ katara jokes, a dramatic curtsy when she realizes her grave MISTAKE. ‘ i'll make sure I do that next time. ’
