        one  of  my  fave  things  about  the  twins  ??   the  fact  that  their  dream  wasn’t  to  make  money   (   despite  their  family  having  little   ),  or  to  become  a  household  name  when  fantasising  about  opening  their  shop   (   although  both  are  nice  perks   )   —   it  was  because  they  GENUINELY  ENJOYED  MAKING  PEOPLE  LAUGH.   period.   they  genuinely  enjoyed  bringing  a  little  lightheartedness  to  kids  that  were  living  in  uncertain  times   (   especially  during  umbridge’s  reign  when  they  would  deliberately  skip  class  just  to  sit  with  a  first  year  who’d  been  in  detention  &  wanted  to  run  away,  &  tell  them  jokes  just  to  see  them  crack  a  smile   ).

        don’t  get  me  wrong,  sometimes  their  pranks  had  ill  intent   (   see   :   dudley   )   but  none  were  meant  to  permanently  harm  ;  in  dudley’s  case  it  was  revenge  for  all  the  crap  he’d  put  harry  through,  harry  who  they  see  as  another  younger  brother   (   &  treat  better  than  ron  just  to  wind  ron  up   ).   what  i’m  getting  at  here  is  that  fred  &  george  had  hearts  of  gold  beneath  their  prankster  exterior,  &  aren’t  just  comic  relief  thanks  4  coming  2  my  ted  talk

❛ you two are SO -----  ❜   incompetent.   he wants to say it.    finally get it out there to give one of them a piece of mind.  it’s not like they wouldn’t deserve it,   they already made drills a hassle & they always spoke out of line -- MOSTLY to take a jab at his last name but he can’t find it within stomach to spew out hatred for either of them.  they’re the best beaters he’s got,   there aren’t many on the reserve list who could achieve feats that those two had done in all the work they had put onto this team for years & very deep down,  there’s a hidden fondness.  not just for them but for their clan.   it started with charlie weasley who during his time at school actually paved way for oliver to become a household name so  it was returning a favor looking out for his twin brothers who had an ongoing knack for BREAKING THE RULES,  & in doing so earning a months detention that would take up the extra time needed for team practices.   a sigh,   he presses a thumb to his forehead before continuing with the tirade,   ❛  a’right then,  enlighten me.  what could you two PRATS possibly have done this time to warrantee NOT only extra time with snape but also be on mcgonnagall’s radar? ❜

TEMPER  THREATENS  TO  BUBBLE  BENEATH           surface,  eyes  already    b u r n i n g    holes  into  his  freckled  face.  It’s  a  good  thing  she  likes  him  and  would  consider  him  her  friend,  because  otherwise  she’d  have  let  herself  slip  by  now,  but  there  is  still  a  dangerous    g l i n t    in  her  eyes,  and  when  mouth  opens  to    speak,    one  should  take  note  of  the  edge  in  her  tone.  Verges  on  indignant  fury  as  hands  land  on  her  hips  and  lips  tighten  into  a  pout.      ❛❛   Oh,  so  we’re  both  agreeing  that  it’s  GEORGE  that’s  going  to  get  the  blame,  are  we  ?   ❜❜

                    Possibly  an    overstep    on  her  part,  but  in  her  defence,  they  stepped  the  line  first,  and  besides,  they  both  know  that  despite  her  big  talk  and  the  brow  that  steadily  rises  up  her  forehead,  she’s  not  going  to  do  anything  too  serious  aside  from  the  few  days  of  silence  and  angry  glares.  In  the  four  years  she’s  been  friends  with  them    (  as  Fred’s  so    kindly    pointed  out  for  her  ),    she  ashamed  to  admit  that  she’s  grown  SOFT.  Dear  Heavens  above,  if  they  ever  figured  that  out,  she’d  never  be  able  to  live  it  down.

                    ❛❛   Like  it  or  not,  Weasley,  you’re  STUCK  in  this  predicament  with  me  now,  so  use  that    big  brain    of  yours  and  help  me  think  of  a  solution  or  we’re  both  going  down.  I’m  not  letting  you  leave  without  me.   ❜❜

          SOFT  GRUNT   /   HEAD  BURIED.   darkness  swallows  room’s  entirety,  question  breaking  unexpectedly  through  thick  silence   —   had  he  been  more  awake,  response  may  have  been  given  in  jest,  a  lighthearted  debate  enrapturing  twins  both  as  was  their  habit.   instead,  patience  is  unusually  thin,  &  hand  fumbles  towards  bedside  table,  fingers  closing  around  nearest  object   (   a  prototype  wand,  horrifically  disfigured   ), before  launching  it  with  surprising  accuracy  in  brother’s  direction.

          ❛              ‘m  tryin’a  sleep,  dickhead             ❜   rest  disrupted,  mood  soured  ;  a  hearty  ‘  hear  hear  ’  from  lee’s  direction  precedes  another  THUMP  announcing  second  object  landing  its  mark,  this  time  thrown  by  hands  other  than  his  own.   fist  punches  pillow  back  into  shape  before  head  flops  unceremoniously  back  onto  surface  with  an  over-dramatic  huff  of  air  accentuating  his  displeasure  ;  barely  seconds  pass  before  images  of  a  pregnant  sirius  wheedle  their  way  unbidden  to  the  forefront  of  mind,  prompting  a  muffled  groan,  quilt  pulled  up  &  over  until  not  even  fiery  tresses  are  visible,    ❛               i  fuckin’  hate  you,  you  absolute  fuckin’  TOSSER.   ❜
