Enjoy the delicious combination of waffles and pancakes with a chocolate chip twist. These fluffy and crispy pancake waffles are perfect for a special breakfast treat.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup chocolate chips. 1 large egg. 1 cup buttermilk. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the chocolate chips to the dry ingredients and stir to combine. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly grease it with cooking spray or butter. Pour the pancake batter onto the waffle iron, using enough to cover the waffle grids without overflowing. Close the waffle iron and cook until the pancakes are golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Carefully remove the waffle pancakes from the iron and serve them warm. You can top them with additional chocolate chips, maple syrup, whipped cream, or your favorite toppings.
