Firstie the Snowman - Open
After the Prefect meeting (where she had sat beside Ted, completely coincidentally of course), she stood up very reluctantly, giving Ted one quick look. It was the only movement she’d let betray herself throughout the whole thing. Really though, she’d spent the entire meeting trying to be as still as possible. The hairs on her arms raised whenever he moved; she was sure somebody must notice her trying not to smile, but apparently they didn’t. The thing was, she really wanted to tell someone or Ted, but she didn’t have anyone to tell, and Ted just wasn’t possible at that moment of time when Lily and James were speaking - what she wanted to tell was a bit of a mystery, but it was getting harder and harder to contain the mess of feelings just for the occasional time that the two of them met.
She wasn’t going to walk out with Ted though, so instead slipped quickly to the door first, giving Rabastan a smile that was more obvious but less warm before escaped. Andromeda could walk quite fast when she wanted to, her skirt flicking up around her thighs in the chilly draught that whistled nonchalantly through the corridor. Glad of her thick, warm tights, she decided to take a quick walk before dinner. It would be nice to be out now that they could.
There was a few people taking to outside and taking advantage of the snow now they could be out and actually see without being blinded by a blizzard. Singing suddenly penetrated the air as she walked between two snowdrifts. “Firstie the Snowman, had a very chilly soul, with a corn cob pipe, and a button nose, and two eyes made out of coals." The singing was loud and distinctive enough for Andy to recognise Peeves - who else could come up with that, except maybe Sirius? As she looked to see where he might be, she spotted him from a window, pelting a first year girl and her friend with the objects as he sang them, along with an assortment of snowballs. Walking over as quickly as she could through the thick carpets of white, she got her wand out, casting a quick deflective charm over the two of them. "Just ignore him," she said quietly. "He’ll stop eventually. But I’d maybe wander over there, where his aim can’t reach." She gestured towards the lake side. They nodded their thanks and hurried off (as quick as they could). Sure enough, Peeves seemed to disappear after a few seconds when he realised they were yelping anymore, with a mutter about ‘party poopers’ which was lost in the wind.
Looking down at the items on the ground, Andy thought it might be a shame to waste them. Why not make a snowman? She hadn’t done that in a very long time… She crouched down and started to make the first snowball, packing the snow together firmly with her bare hands quickly turning red.
