Harringrove + "please, don't leave me alone"? 😊
billy curls into steve’s side once his breathing evens out, rests his head on top of steve’s chest.
he thinks about it in the quiet of the bedroom. he can’t get it out of his head when he’s laying next to steve while the other boy sleeps. or when he’s in the shower. or when he’s in class and a teacher is droning on. or when he’s alone in his bedroom at night and the silence is too much. it turns over and over in billy’s mind when he’s not occupied with something.
how steve’s going away soon.
and not just for one of those week long vacations his parents sometimes take him on. steve got accepted to a technical school right outside of chicago. it’s a 3 hour drive. he’ll be dorming there.
steve won’t be close by when school starts for him at the end of the month. billy won’t be able to see him anytime he wants, escape to steve’s house to get away from it all. to feel steve’s hands on when he needs to be grounded.
billy’s thought about ways to get steve to stay. it comes down to same thing every time. billy has contemplated saying it, something he hasn’t uttered since his mom left all those years ago.
please, don’t leave me
maybe he’d say it to steve. finally let the other boy in on how much billy cares.
and maybe this time, someone would listen.
