DAY #2
About 7 am or so I woke up toooo... little feet running up and down the hallway. Ohhh, Children and their energy <3
We had a big day planned at the Zoo in Melbourne. The fam & I had brekkie, and then got ready to head out for the zoo. We picked up Erin's friend, and her two girls. One of which is Emmett's (the little boy) girlfriend. And then we were off to the city. By far the coolest zoo I've ever been to. The exhibits were much more natural than any I've ever been to, and you got to get up close and personal with the animals; which was obviously awesome. We brought our lunches, and got ice cream in the afternoon. By the time we saw all of the animals, all of the children - and us adults were quite tired.
When we got home Mitch hooked the boat up to his car. Mitch, Emmett, Nathan (Mitch's friend), Little Mitchie (Nathan's son & Emmett's best friend) and I all headed to the bay for some fun on the water. Mitch, who works at a wake-boarding shop just got a wake-skateboard the other day and wanted to give it a try. Nathan, Mitch and I all gave it a go. It was quite fun, and very different! There are no boots to put your foot in, just some grooves to help your feet stay. I do believe it would be helpful to wear some type of water shoes though. I've never done any water sports in the ocean so that was just awesome.
Also, WOW. The coast is beautiful.
When we got back we all had some drinks (minus the kids of course!) and had dinner out on the patio. They have these awesome mixed drinks in cans. I had an UDL - which was lemon-lime soda with vodka. I haven't had the Jim Bean one yet; but it's bourbon whiskey & cola. Can you say delicious?
So, day #2 was quite amazing mates! This next year is going to be one for the history books.
