The Cotton Special is an out and out race car. If anyone can fill some details it would be appreciated. But my guess is it was campaigned by band leader and radio celebrity Billy Cotton at Brooklands pre-war. As well as his regular appearances on the BBC with his band, and his trademark shout of Wakey-Wakey, Cotton was also an amateur footballer for Brentford (and later, for the then Athenian league club Wimbledon) an accomplished racing driver and the owner of a Gipsy Moth, which he piloted himself. He was a frequent competitor at Brooklands and a member of the infamous 100 mph club.
