The primordial eliatropes are canonical mistakes. Here’s why.
This kind of claim has been surfacing around the place for a while, at least ever since we got to know that the Eliatrope Goddess had been with the Great Dragon.
Examples of claims like these are all around like when @articwolfclawartist said this once here.
And when @sadiecoocoo also summarized everything wrong with them here.
Far more examples have been here longer than these two, but it just goes to show that some people have already connected the dots around and suspected that something was amiss with the primordial eliatropes.
You see, for anyone who isn't aware about the Inglorium's working process, all the gods need to follow their set of rules in order to not outrank or betray each other.
However, out of all the rules the gods must follow, there’s one very important one that they all tend to strictly obey as if their lives depended on it.
And that specific rule is: do not fornicate with each other.
It turns out that the only god we know who truly broke the rule was the Eliatrope goddess.
The gods have established a rule among themselves to avoid having children together because their offspring could potentially kill them. To prevent this dangerous situation, they collectively agreed to refrain from intimate relationships with one another. Despite their tendency to indulge in their desires, neglect their offspring, have conflicts among themselves, and act carelessly at times, they all recognize the importance of adhering to this rule. A being capable of killing a god represents a significant threat to both the divine order and mortal existence.
Even Iop wouldn't risk this.
This rule of no fornification is so engraved in their heads that not even Iop, a literal dumbass and infamous fuckboy, ever tried to commit the act. Until he unwillingly did in his own despicable way.
Iop had once been tricked by Sadida into fathering a child with him through a Sadida doll. The reason why Sadida did this was to gain revenge against Iop for disrespecting the power he had contributed to the World of Twelve by ruining the environment and even pissing on his sacred statues.
*as seen in a flashback in Ogrest's 5th volume*
Translation:
His favorite targets? Sadida and Osamodas. The two divinities were furious when seeing him mocking them so openly.
Translation:
Sadida attempted to convince the others that the god of war was less iop than he looked, but in vain.
Cra: "We would need something really severe to make him remove himself."
An idea lingered in Sadida's spirit... A risky idea, but an idea that wouldn't miss alerting the other gods.
Sadida was filled with blind rage that he wanted to make Iop fall by making him break one of their shared sacred rules. But not just any rule, a very severe one: the act of fornication between each other.
And so to do this, Sadida had drugged Iop, led him to his realm, and purposely guided him to Lacrima where he can do the deed since he knew Iop was the type to screw anything when he's drunk hard like that.
This vile act done by both of them resulted in creating a monstrous being called Cornu Mollu.
When the gods learned about the new entity, they ordered Iop to go down in the World of Twelve and clean his own mess. As a result, Iop had BARELY survived, and just like what the sacred rule had said, Cornu Mollu had been able to almost kill him if it wasn't for the fact that Iop reincarnated himself.
None of the other gods tried to intervene either because Iop was literally considered to be the strongest between them.
Translation:
Eaten away by doubt, Sadida was lost in his thoughts. His plan hadn't worked like he expected.
The awakening of Cornu Mollu, his son, had almost destroyed the Iop God, dragging in his path millions of deaths.
The World of Twelve had narrowly escaped disappearing.
In order words, Cornu Mollu had been so unbelievably strong that he almost killed one of his fathers (and even almost Goultard that one time), the physically strongest god too.
So what does this say about the primordial Eliatropes? Please keep in mind that we are only talking about the Council of Six since they are of immortal status compared to their own people.
Like Cornu Mollu, the Council of Six are immortal children of two gods, the Eliatrope goddess and the Great Dragon.
But the question here is, are they the same as Cornu Mollu?
Well yes and no.
Yes, because they both came from full-fledged gods, have immeasurable power attributed to each of them, have defeated a god-like being and/or have been deemed as worthy by an other wordly creature.
No, because while Cornu Mollu had been born as an accidental god, the primordial eliatropes are still considered to be demigods. Cornu Mollu had also always been presented as an evil entity since the day he was born and never really showed any other emotion besides hate and defiance. The primordial eliatropes, on the other hand, have a far more extended range of emotions just like the gods and twelvians.
However, despite the difference in behaviors, it doesn't change the fact that both have caused so much damage.
We already know what Cornu Mollu did.
So let's see the eliatropes. Every single one of them has done something to the World of Twelve and many others:
First case: Qilby (partially Shinonome too)
He was cursed with unlimited memory storage, being unable to experience memory loss during his rebirths like his siblings.
Therefore, this curse caused him to watch his siblings die over and over again, behaving the same way in all of their lives and he could never do anything except helplessly watch them continue their senseless cycle.
This has caused him to snap one day and betray another race, the mechasms, in order to find another way to discover the krosmoz instead of staying on his original planet. He risked his entire race for his own goals. Shinonome wasn't seen doing anything about stopping him, but she did express empathy for him given that she was the only one who understood him.
When he got out of his White Dimension prison because of Yugo and Adamaï, he decided to take advantage of the two's forgotten memories and cause chaos by stealing back the Eliacube, making a deal with Rushu, the shushu king, to ruin the World of Twelve so he could go to Emrub and take his people to travel the Krosmoz.
And if the eliatrope children didn't want to follow him, he planned on stealing his dofus to take his sister Shinonome so they could travel the unknown together without any restrictions.
Second case: Chibi and Grougaloragran
We haven't seen anything about these two before the mechasm war, but if we had to rely on the manga and take out one thing about the eliatropes, it was implied that Chibi specifically hadn't told their people that the goddess wasn't responding to their prayers.
After the war, the two brothers resided in Oma Island and tried fighting back against the eliotropes (while not being aware about their origins). When Chibi dies and Grougaloragran was close with ending the group, he THREW the Eliacube away in the sea, hoping it would sink deep in the ocean and have no one reclaim it. This has caused Nox to be made into the man he is today.
He had also helped Adamaï in this life to destroy most of Qilby's captured creatures that had made significant contributions in the medical field for their people, essentially erasing some aspects of their history in the process.
He may have essentially burned most of their medicine sources and high advance science compared to the World of Twelve.
Third case: Glip and Balthazar
The Wakfu Guardians game is not canon, and the manga depicting Balthazar restricting the Eliatrope children in Emrub by putting them in a coma can be considered canon in its own way; however, nothing is definitive.
It still doesn't change the fact that Balthazar tried to imprison his own people and thought that it was considered protection.
For Glip however, we haven't seen much about him and what he has done so far. So we'll simply exempt him from our list for now.
Fourth case: Mina and Phaerys
Mina was the one with the least screentime and moments in the manga. So she gets a pass. Phaerys had more scenes and has always acted out of self-defense when danger striked such as when Prince Adale and his crew came on his island as well as when Jiva chose to fight him in the manga. Judging by these two instances, he never striked first.
Therefore, the fourth case Mina and Phaerys can be exempted from our list like Glip as well (for now).
Fifth case: Yugo and Adamaï
These two get to have the most screentime, so they get to be walking abominations on a daily basis.
Yugo accidentally created a doppelganger race of himself just to save one of his friends who had a tendency of dying time and time again, even when he had been a full-fledged god back in the day. This had caused Yugo to fight villains like Nox, Ogrest, and Jiva, who had been turned into villains by his evil persona in one way or another.
He had also chosen his friend over his own brother, Adamaï, his dragon brother, who had always been, is, and will be with him for all of eternity.
If we also need to see more of his actions, then we can take a look at his evil persona, Oropo.
His messed up reflection manipulated his second-in-command and admirer, Lady Echo, and made her play along with his plan while recruiting demigods, manipulating them, sacrificing them if they were no longer useful, or missed the mark completely with his plan.
He even gets Echo to keep Dathura alive and make her join their group order to keep her on a leash so she won't be able to calm down Ogrest and his floods.
He, with his other eliotrope siblings, had killed Chibi and blinded Grougal.
Then, Oropo himself, gets stuck in the Eliacube and slowly turns Nox insane.
Oropo is what Yugo could have been: a worse version who got the last end of the stick. Therefore, if he can do all that while coming from Yugo, then Yugo can do that too.
Adamaï, on the other hand, is also at fault too. He pushed Yugo into using the Eliacube with him back when neither of them even knew what it could do if it got triggered. This resulted in them opening the White Dimension and letting Qilby out of his prison. This also resulted in letting out Rushu.
Adamaï had also killed off creatures from other worlds by burning them in their safe cocoons, resulting in ruining actual medical solutions and information for Qilby to keep on using for their people.
He had also joined Oropo's group after Yugo's betrayal, which had led him to have his older form altered by Oropo in some way. After joining, it was heavily implied that he had done some missions for Oropo and we could see that he did not hesitate to separate the Percedal family, and attempt to kill off Dally just so he could kidnap Elely, Flopin, and a pregnant Eva because Oropo told him to.
Sixth case: Nora and Efrim
Nothing really showed what they had done back when the Council of Six was perfectly working together, but we did see what these two had done after it.
After the mechasm war, Nora and Efrim took up the responsibility to venture the krosmoz in the hopes of finding their mother. Finding their creator was considered to be their last resort to give back some sort of balance to their people.
They had spent decades, eras, possibly even millions of years to try to find her.
Eventually, they succeeded.
But this resulted in Efrim turning into a necrome by their mother's agressors, leaving Nora vulnerable to mental manipulation by her own brother and getting scarred on her last life.
And just like Cornu Mollu, Efrim expressed the same hostility, anger, defiance, and especially sadism for his creator. He relished in his darker feelings for her, wanting to cause her harm for the sake of just pure satisfaction at seeing her fall.
Nora and her brother had been the reason the World of Twelve almost got invaded by pure stasis.
Not only that, but they ended up using their last lives just to fight back against mechasms, flee, find a new planet, fight back again, flee, and secure their mother, before dying together one last time.
I can even go as far as claiming that each primordial eliatrope (and their twin dragons to an extent) has a curse of their own but had been easily overshadowed by Qilby's curse for being the most explored out of all of them. It's essentially just a small detail that I picked up, but I truly believe they have actual curses in their own right, and I explained it right here. So do what you will with that.
Now coming back to each of the Council of Six's choices, what did all of this amount for?
All those actions, mistakes, relationships, successes, failures, survivals, and battles. All those lives, being eliatrope or not. All have been wasted away because we can circulate it back to one god who broke one rule.
Therefore, there are only two things that differentiate the primordial eliatropes from Cornu Mollu.
The first one: unlike Cornu Mollu, the primordial eliatropes have layers to their personalities and more complex feelings that explains their actions. One reason that could potentially explain why the primordial eliatropes behave much more differently than Cornu Mollu is because they had been created by higher beings of power, being the goddess of creation, the Eliatrope Goddess and the dragon to all dragons, the Great Dragon. Whereas Cornu Mollu had been created by Iop and Sadida, two gods that had been created after the Eliatrope Goddess and the Great Dragon created the Krosmoz.
The second one: Cornu Mollu had been created without consent while the Council of Six had been created with love.
It now makes perfect sense as to why the primordial eliatropes are constantly bringing trouble for their own people and other races. Wherever they go or do, no matter how much good they give, it won't matter. Because they're contradicting life itself. They were created by two gods breaking a severe bound between ancient beings. That act alone could almost be considered as 'blasphemy' in their equals' eyes.
The eliatropes consistently faced danger, which motivated them to choose one of their primordial eliatropes as their protector and king. I believe Yugo was selected for this role to safeguard them from threats on their home planet. Before the arrival of the mechasms and their resulting misunderstandings, what did Yugo truly protect the eliatropes from? It’s possible that he defended them against various natural dangers that regularly occurred.
When one of their own betrayed them, alongside another race, the eliatropes were forced to flee their planet. In their escape, they destroyed other so-called "empty" planets to harness the wakfu needed for their journey. However, it’s curious to note that these "empty" planets contained creatures discovered in Qilby's lab.
When they arrived on the World of Twelve, which was inhospitable at the time, their enemies followed them and caused further destruction. Even though the council of six is not fully assembled, some remaining members still continue to inflict harm and casualties upon their own kind and others.
To put it simply, the primordial eliatropes are akin to dinosaurs, and their threats resemble the meteorite that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. However, in this case, the eliatropes are always on the move, never allowing the meteor to strike them perfectly and eliminate them for good.
Even if there was one primordial eliatrope standing, no one would be safe.
Even if their creation had been decided a bit differently than Cornu Mollu's, there is no proper balance for their existence as well. They simply exist without NEEDING to exist, which is why they are always seen fighting for their rights to live.
The primordial eliatropes are mistakes. And life keeps trying to throw everything at them so they could truly die once and for all.
And just before you tell me first, yes, seeing that Yugo and his siblings are mistakes that would mean Yugo’s creations, the eliotropes who were already known as mistakes, would now be known as mistakes of a mistake.
