Painting this mural was one of biggest challenges in my life so far. I've spent 8 days on the bamboo scaffolding, climbing up and down the structure with no safety belt (it was impossible to wear it), waking up at 5am every morning and finishing the work with the sun going down. For a long time I wasn’t sure how I feel about this experience – after finishing the work I was mentally and physically destroyed, level of stress during the whole project was high, mostly because I was working on a structure on which I didn’t feel safe, with the sun burning my back and no wind to cool me down (not to mention the deadline). Each day I kept pushing my limits to the maximum, not giving up, coming back to the site over and over again, guided only be the thought that I should never give up on anything in my life, no matter how hard it gets sometimes (and trust me, this was hard!). Now that I look back, I see it as one of those challenges that life brings to us along with the choice – to give up or to keep pushing no matter what. I choose never to give up, I choose to keep building my world even when it hurts, I choose to make my dreams come true. My world is in my hands to make it!
Big thanks to all the students of NIFT Patna who helped me during the project. Special thanks and huge respect goes to the organizing team of Walk For Bihar festival for pulling out this project in such a large scale for the first time in Patna. Thanks for inviting me to take part, it was an amazing experience!
