Daughter was working from home today so I was on my own for lunch. I headed to my favourite lunch spot. I needed some fresh air and solitude. I did share my sandwich with a hungry sparrow though. After work I walked down to the carpet place to collect our mats. They were edging some left over bits of carpet for us. I have not been down that end of town on foot for ages and there was plenty to see along the way including some cool new street art. When we got home I got changed and headed off out the door to see if I could run 5km before it got dark. No headlamp required this evening but next time I think I will need one. The mats look great.

Noisy, busy day in the office today. I work with the loveliest people, Jo gave me an Easter Bunny. I have been enjoying the autumn leaves on my walks towards home and today was a lovely warm calm autumn day so when I got home I just had to go for a run to the beach. I ran through the forest which had a few puddles to dodge but it wasn't as bad as the dead fish I nearly stood on when running on the beach. The sand was really soft so I didn't run far down the beach. When I got home I took a cool down walk around the garden and found a passionfruit on the ground so snaffled that up and headed inside to stretch and roll. I have been doing far too much sitting lately. I'm ceasing up!

I am starting to think about the next baby quilt. My son's boss is having a baby, due in June, so we are going to make her a baby quilt. I needed hooks to hang my little bit of improv quilt so today after a long noisy day in the office I headed for Spotlight and got pretty much everything on my shopping list. When I got home I did a strength workout. While I was doing the last plank in a set of three it dawned on me that I had been doing these workouts since last September. When I started I did not have the strength to get through all the exercises and I really struggled with the planks at the end of each set. It used to take me 40 ish minutes to get through all three sets if I made it at all. Today I was all done with extra clams and dead lifts thrown in at the end in 36 minutes. Sweaty but very pleased with myself. I awarded myself a super hero sticker with sparkles.

After a very long day in the office I got plenty of moving in as soon as I was free. It was pretty windy out but the rain had stopped and it was warm. As soon as we got home we headed out for a run. I wanted to go to the beach and see the stormy waves. They don’t look big in the photos I took but they are way bigger than usual.

Eels for dinner? I wasn't keen but I did enjoy watching this very hungry bird devour four of them as I walked home by the river today.

It was a very chilly Monday down here at the bottom of the world. Hubby dropped me off at the office door at stupid o'clock. As people arrived they told me how cold it was walking from their cars to the office. At lunchtime those that braved the weather to buy some lunch said it had gotten colder and not to go out there. At home time I wrapped up and grabbed an umbrella and headed out. I walked towards home as the misty drizzle set in. Only the ducks and shags in the river where enjoying the conditions. Hubby caught up with me after I had walked 3km and as the drizzle was turning to rain. Once home I got changed and did a strength workout and lots of stretches. After yesterdays long run I was cold and wet from the rain and I went straight in the shower, no stretching or foam roller. Today I felt quite tight and sore, that'll learn me.

We are slowly settling into a new rhythm now that Mum has moved to her new home. The past couple of days I have been walking from work towards home and Hubs picks me up along the way. It is a nice way to wind down after work. When we get home I have been doing Iron Strength workouts in the Tiny Gym. I got tired of bouncing from work out to workout on Youtube and have gone back to Iron Strength for a regular whole body runner focused workout. It seems to be working for me so I will persist.
