Two in a row. Beautiful sunny calm days. It was a no brainer to head to the gardens again for lunch today. I think it was even nicer than yesterday, definitely warmer. I chose a different park bench this time in the shade. The birdsong was not as good today but the sandwich was great. After work I headed into the tiny gym for some strength work. I was going to finish up with some skipping but Hubby came in and said the weather had turned and it was freezing out there. I chickened out on the skipping and went and put some pieces in the jigsaw puzzle instead.

It has been an odd week, busy but odd. It was Hubby's first week of retirement. He has been very busy easing into his new life. I did one run and a couple of gym workouts this week. Not my usual load exercise wise, I am feeling the effects of winter. I did get to the gardens for lunch a couple of times. I enjoyed the company of a couple of Kererū on Wednesday. Today I worked from home as usual but it was weird hearing Hubby buzzing about with the vacuum and working out in the tiny gym while I worked. As soon as logoff time arrived we headed out into the sunshine for a walk to the beach.

I went for my usual walk at morning tea, it was lovely and mild out so it was an enjoyable walk. As soon as I got back to the office I got a call from someone needing my assistance so I headed over to the other office. When I got back Daughter wanted to meet for lunch so after catching up on some work I headed out again. We had lunch in the sun and went for a wander around the central city, there is a lot to look at. I headed back to the office and five minutes later another call from the other office so off I went to help. That's what I do these days, I help. I had better keep up with the strength workouts and the rowing so I can keep up the pace of the helping.

When I got home from my long run Hubby had reorganised the tiny gym. He has a knee injury and needs to get into the gym to do some strengthening exercises. We need a bigger room and I have a few ideas but for now this set up will do.

We are slowly settling into a new rhythm now that Mum has moved to her new home. The past couple of days I have been walking from work towards home and Hubs picks me up along the way. It is a nice way to wind down after work. When we get home I have been doing Iron Strength workouts in the Tiny Gym. I got tired of bouncing from work out to workout on Youtube and have gone back to Iron Strength for a regular whole body runner focused workout. It seems to be working for me so I will persist.

Not much to report from down here at the bottom of the world. Biked home and did a strength workout on Monday and then the weather packed up and the rest of the week has been rain, gale force winds, rough seas and snow to low levels. I have not run all week and have not biked since Monday. It is not a bad thing my Garmin told me my Sunday 10km run was unproductive. So a weather enforced slow down is happening without too much grumbling. The step streak lives on but despite all the tiny gym workouts no muscles have shown up.

The Tiny Gym has had a bit of a makeover today. We got a new spare bed for when we get The Omicron and have to isolate. If one of us got it the other would be on the couch so we went and bought a spare bed.

The favourite part of my Wednesday was having lunch in the sun on the river bank with Daughter. Also Mum was 88 today so when I took her groceries in after work she was fussing over the flowers we sent her. She got her booster shot today too and was doing fine. So glad she is boostered. I got in a strength workout as soon as we got home. Hubby called me to dinner while I was working out and I forgot to push the I'm done button on my Garmin so no I didn't do strength for 1.23 unless you count chewing my dinner. I had to go for a garden amble to round out my 10k steps and keep the streak alive. Puzzle next and then some telly before sleep. Hope you had a favourite part of your day.
