I TRY TO WORRY FOR YOUR SOUL BUT I FORGET TO
I think about you walking on a string
it always brings me back here
into the garden, by the hand
Matt Berninger’s “Walking on a String” ft. Phoebe Bridgers
MATT BERNINGER : WALKING ON A STRING (FEAT. PHOEBE BRIDGERS)
I’ve been waiting for this song to properly drop since I heard it a few weeks ago while watching ‘Between Two Ferns: The Movie’ on Netflix several weeks ago. Today, it’s finally here via esteemed indie label Dead Oceans. Matt Berninger of The National teamed up with acclaimed singer songwriter Phoebe Bridgers to give us Walking On A String. Berninger wrote the song specifically for the satiric Zach Galifianakis film, alongside his wife, writer Carin Besser, and musician Mike Brewer. It’s a bucolic duet which crests cathartically in its final, best minute. Stream/download Walking On A String, here.
