I've discovered the joy of walking down rarely used train tracks in the middle of the woods. Plodding along in my hiking boots looking for curious areas in the forest and crossing bridges by stepping on old, dense wood and looking down to see rushing water has become a way to ground me. Something about the serene stillness combined with the rushing power of the river below replenishes me. The bridges have year markers from as early as 1913, built when the Pacific Northwest was full of logging towns. Logging towns haven't changed a whole lot since then, being built on the need for community and the struggle with the elements. - - - #communelife #rurallife #river #walkingdownthetraintracks #rapids #nature #industrial #oregon #siuslawriver #siuslawnationalforest #intentionalcommunity #traintracks (at Deadwood, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqTUXqZHJfG/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=jqwi4eck6mo7
