Apple May Launch WALL-E-Like AI Robot by 2027
Apple is reportedly working on a WALL-E-like tabletop robot as part of its AI strategy, expected to launch by 2027. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the robot will feature a movable arm, an iPad-like display, and the ability to follow people around a room. It will also support FaceTime calls and serve as a virtual companion for households.
The standout feature of this robot will be an AI-powered Siri, capable of engaging in natural conversations, recalling information, and even interacting with multiple people simultaneously. Apple is exploring giving Siri an animated version of the Finder logo, though the final design is yet to be decided.
In addition to the robot, Apple is reportedly working on a smart speaker with a display and J450 security cameras, which will support facial recognition, infrared sensing, and automated actions like adjusting lights or playing music based on presence detection.
The company is also developing LLM Siri, a conversational AI running on Apple’s in-house Linwood and external Glenwood technologies, with testing involving Anthropic’s Claude. The AI is designed to understand natural language commands, enhance smart home experiences, and integrate with personal data seamlessly.
These developments indicate Apple’s push toward an AI-centric ecosystem, blending robotics, smart devices, and advanced conversational AI for the future.
