[2:25:47 PM] Benedict: man goats are awesome
[2:25:49 PM] Benedict: our family used to have goats
[2:26:00 PM] Benedict: this one time the goats had kids and the kids escaped
[2:26:17 PM] Benedict: and got down to our back patio, which had like this brick wall with a corner
[2:26:31 PM] Benedict: and just started doing walljumps in a circle
[2:26:49 PM] Benedict: four little goats jumping onto the wall, kicking off, landing on the other wall, and kicking off of that wall
[2:26:58 PM] Benedict: over and over and over again in a tiny little circle and
[2:27:05 PM] Benedict: omg goats are adorbs you have no idea
[2:27:13 PM] drazelic: i really don't have any idea lol
[2:27:54 PM] Benedict: out of all the animals i've met, goats are the ones who're the most focused on /finding fun things to do/
[2:28:07 PM] Benedict: i don't know a whole lot of other animals that actively seek novelty
[2:29:14 PM] Benedict: oh man one of those baby goats, was named walnut, just because one of my sisters saw it had a brown head, right
[2:29:23 PM] Benedict: but it turned out to be kind of a prophetic name
[2:29:28 PM] Benedict: because it was a wall nut
[2:29:40 PM] Benedict: that is, he would find any available vertical surface
[2:29:53 PM] Benedict: and the first thing he would do was just push his head into it
[2:29:57 PM] Benedict: and just keep pushing
[2:30:06 PM] Benedict: like you're playing a video game and you're walking in place against a wall
[2:30:09 PM] Benedict: exactly like that
[2:30:12 PM] drazelic: i must /fuse/ with this wall
[2:30:25 PM] drazelic: this wall was /made/ for meeeeeeeeeee.....
[2:30:51 PM] Benedict: the enigma of amigara GOAT
The History of Walljumping (and Hacking)
I noticed a thread on the forum on it and it piqued my interest.
Japonmania mentioned:
Suicideboy is actually the first one who mastered the "glitch", but not the first one who discovered the concept.
So in the beginning.... WJ was a glitch. Tig didn't think this up on his own.
Rafou, another french guy who stopped a looooong time ago saw he could jump again after touching walls, and he compared the game to Super Mario 64. :3
If you guys are unfamiliar with Super Mario 64 it's one of THE BEST N64 games out there. If you don't remember here's some crazy wall jump action.
The community was reaaally small at the time so everyone knew each other but as the community grew many other wall jumpers figured out the trick. Another tidbit from Japonmania "Suicideboy is actually banned because he happens to be the one who also "created" hacking on TFM. Let's say he's the father of all the hackers out there."
