Shooting for my video project on #Covid-19. Due to my country (Portugal) forcing a mandatory quarantine for all but basic needs, a quick walk around my hometown was all i could do. I took this time to record my soroundings.

This is my University documentary "Four Walls" which was created during lockdown.
Now available on Vimeo is my final piece “Four Walls” about my experience on mental health influenced during lockdown. WARNING: This video is based on a true story so some viewers may find it upsetting.
My evaluation from my piece “Four Walls” talking about my project, how I did it and what I liked and could have done better in creating it.
I was unable to find inspiration from many photographers, however the work by Edward Honaker helped me with some inspiration. Honaker was diagnosed with depression at the age of 19 and at 21 he would document his mental health with obscured portraits showing how complicated it is as images shows the isolation it brings.
My main source of inspiration for my video is the charity CALM and the main patron; rapper Professor Green. Professor Green has outspoken constantly about his mental health experience which was driven by his dad’s suicide. The work he has done to get people talking has inspired me to open up about my own experiences in hope to end the stigma in mental health and get people talking.
A rough scale of the editing work which was done on Final Cut Pro. This includes short montages, longer piece-to-cameras, a couple of voiceovers and the music edited which is the same track but I had to edit to keep in time with the videos.
For the first part of my piece “Four Walls” involved a small montage of different reports (mainly from BBC) announcing the Coronavirus outbreak, in time to the BBC News countdown theme, as it proceeded to spread around the world and progress. This particular screenshot was when the head of the World Health Organisation announced that the virus became a pandemic. I started off with this to show what caused this and one of the reasons behind the video idea in the first place but also to add a slightly light hearted start.
A few screenshots from my piece “Four Walls” demonstrating the “Home Video” side to the video. The video was filmed over different times of the day which causes my lighting to be altered meaning my back drop is inconsistent. Also as the videos were filmed on different days my t-shirts are all different which I decided to keep in to demonstrate the difference and that it was filmed over a long period.
