The sun burned at the world's edge
The sun burned at the world's edge, Shadows burned in silence. The man in the hat, leaning on the rail, Watched the world fade to smoke.
The sky died in the pond, The water breathed the sky. Shadows hang suspended, Neither leaving, nor lingering.
Hat full of wind, Hand full of nothing. The sunset—his sole possession.
Three shadows on the wall of light: One left, One stayed, One still on the way... But the sun recognized no one.
